Since Jonah was 6 months old, we’ve used the fantastic Weleda Calendula Shampoo and Body Wash at every bathtime. If you’re not familiar with the Weleda Calendula Baby range, I definitely recommend you check it out. It’s completely soothing and healing, and makes us both feel so good at bathtime!

Of course Jonah loves his bathtime with this wonderful natural product from Weleda.

As with other Weleda products, it’s certified organic by NaTrue.

The ingredients list of Weleda Calendula Shampoo and Body Wash is reassuringly short. Let’s begin this review by taking a look at the beneficial ingredients:

Weleda Calendula Shampoo and Body Wash ingredients

Water (Aqua), Coco-Glucoside, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Sweet Almond) Oil, Alcohol, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Sesamum Indicum (Sesame) Seed Oil, Glycerin, Chondrus Crispus (Carrageenan), Calendula Officinalis Flower Extract, Xanthan Gum, Lactic Acid, Fragrance (Parfum), Limonene, Linalool.

Sweet almond oil

A fantastic gentle moisturiser, sweet almond oil is hypoallergenic and kind to all skin – especially baby skin. Almond oil can help with dry skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.

It’s great for hair too, leaving it soft and manageable.

Moisturising sweet almond oil

Almond oil is very light so it absorbs well into the skin without leaving a greasy slick behind. Great for when you’re handling baby after their bath!

Sesame seed oil

This oil is rich in several skin-loving fatty acids. It is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory – a great choice for baby or toddler skin which may be suffering nappy rash.

Sesame seed oil

Sesame seed oil is deeply moisturising and can help the skin to repair itself.

Calendula flower extract

Calendula has been used for centuries to treat inflammation and to soothe the skin.

Calendula

Weleda Calendula Shampoo and Body Wash has a lovely fragrance which comes from natural essential oils.

I find this shampoo and body wash doesn’t remove Jonah’s natural precious baby smell – which is so important to me. I just love Jonah’s natural smell!

Using the product

After using this wash, Jonah is clean and his skin is soft. His hair is left silky and shiny, and we’ve never needed to use a conditioner alongside this shampoo and wash.

The product doesn’t sting if it accidentally gets into the eyes.

One of these tubes has lasted us more than a year – a little really does go a long way.

Final thoughts on Weleda Calendula Shampoo and Body Wash

This gorgeous wash gently cleanses without stripping skin of moisture. Warm water, the gentle touch of baby’s carer, along with the soothing smell of this product will promote relaxation.

It contains healing calendula and wonderful skin loving oils that will keep skin and hair soft and well-conditioned.

The shampoo and body wash is good value for money since the package lasts a long time.

  1. I’ll have to try that! My 1 year old has a bit of ecxema. I’ve tried coconut oil but didn’t know about almond oil.

    • It’s great stuff! Weleda also do a lovely almond facial oil which is a good choice to treat very dry skin.
