Martina Gebhardt Propolis Cream review

Martina Gebhardt Propolis Cream

My husband gifted me this Martina Gebhardt Propolis Cream last Christmas. It’s a bit too rich for daily use on my combination skin. I use it when my skin is feeling in need of extra moisturisation, for instance after a clay mask. I also use it in winter when my skin gets drier. It’s so rich that I use it as a general moisturising cream for my hands, feet, and elbows.

I also really like to dab a bit of this cream on a spot once it is healing. I’m convinced it improves the look of marks on my face.

The ingredient propolis is what prompted my husband buy it. We’d used propolis supplements to help with egg quality when trying to conceive Jonah. Could it have good effects applied topically, too?

After unwrapping it, I immediately checked all the ingredients. Being pregnant, I didn’t want any nasties in my skin cream. This cream doesn’t disappoint – the ingredients are ideal for those looking to avoid dangerous ingredients; and there are some unusual ingredients in there like silver and gold.

I hadn’t heard of German brand Martina Gebhardt until my husband bought me this cream. Here’s some information about Martina’s philosophy:

Less is more is taken seriously in the way I manufacture my cosmetic products. My products contain only those ingredients that are necessary and that complement each other to create that special, magical essence that exceeds the sum of its individual components.

The cream claims to reduce inflammation, help with healing, and improve skin tone. Use it on the entire family! It comes in a heavy glass jar. You’ll need clean fingers to scoop some out.

It’s thick, rich, and smells strongly of honey and lemon. The feel is comfortingly reminiscent of the Pond’s cold cream that my Grandma used.

After use, my skin looks shiny. Mineral foundation users – it’ll make a good primer for your makeup and the shine will be absorbed.

Final thoughts on Martina Gebhardt Propolis Cream

This is a gorgeously rich and pampering cream, and I really enjoy using it. It would work really well as a daily moisturiser for dry skin. If your normal, oily or combination skin needs a treat, it would also work well. I love the unusual ingredients it contains, and that it seems to help my skin heal from blemishes.

My current favourite daily moisturiser for my combination skin is Green People Day Solution, as it moisturises really well while controlling my hormonal breakouts.

What do you think to this moisturiser? What are your favourite winter face creams? Let me know in the comments!

Until next time!
