May 2018 skincare, beauty, and health empties

My consumption of skincare and beauty this month was considerably less than last month. Because we were on holiday last month, my empties are dominated by travel sizes! Here are my May 2018 skincare, beauty, and health empties – I really hope you enjoy reading about them!

Full size skincare, beauty, and health products

Disclosure: I was gifted JUN-i Face Oil by Skin Organics Beauty Box, and Monat samples by Bristol Hair @ Monat. I received Elsa’s Natural Deodorant, PHB Brightening Eye Gel, and Botanico Vida Omega Oil from LoveLula, but my opinions are honest and my own.

Elsa’s Natural Deodorant in Ocean

Oh yes, I love this deodorant. It came in the LoveLula March Beauty Box, and, for me, works even better than mainstream aluminium based deodorants.

Elsa's Deodorant in Ocean

Expect a full review soon. In the meantime, I urge you to buy this deodorant and never look back!

JUN-i Face Oil

This came in my Skin Organics Beauty Sleep Box. It’s a really gorgeous cleansing oil that does an amazing job of lifting dirt and makeup.

JUN-i Face Oil

Unfortunately, the face oil seems to be unavailable at the moment as the JUN-i site is under construction.

PHB Brightening Eye Gel

This came in January’s LoveLula Box. It’s a lovely pampering eye gel that brightens the eye area. I do think it helped with puffiness under my eyes.

PHB Brightening Eye Gel

I’m now using PHB Anti-Aging Eye Gel which came in May’s LoveLula Box.

Wellbaby Multi-Vitamin Liquid

We love this multivitamin liquid for Jonah. Since the NHS recommends everybody take a vitamin D supplement, we regularly top up Jonah’s healthy diet with a supplement, to be on the safe side.

Bentley Organic Handwash in Lavender

This Soil Association certified hand wash is one of the kindest we’ve tried, my whole family uses it. With aloe vera and jojoba, it cleans leaving hands soft.

Faerie Minerals Maximum Coverage Foundation in Porcelain

I’ve been using Faerie Minerals for about 5 years now. They used to be available in the UK, but no more – so now I buy them from the US.

I placed my last order before Jonah was born, when I was still earning a full time wage. In the future I’ll be buying a UK brand to save money, so unfortunately I won’t be buying more of this. I do have 2 more in my stash, though!

Green People Day Solution Cream SPF15

We bought this for our holiday last year and it’s taken a whole year to use it! My husband likes Green People moisturisers.

This one is great for summer months, and I’ve found it helps control my breakouts.

Green People Gentle Cleanse and Makeup Remover

I love Green People Gentle Cleanse and Makeup Remover, it’s probably my favourite cleanser as it’s so gentle but effective.

Green People Foaming Face Wash

I don’t know why I’ve never reviewed this face wash, I really love it.

Green People Foaming Face Wash

It’s gentle but feels like it cleanses well without stripping. I’ll be sad to see this travel size go.

Monat Revive Shampoo

I was kindly sent Monat shampoo and conditioner samples to review, and I’m actually pretty amazed by this brand. Their marketing and branding is very slick and not what you usually get from natural beauty brands. Monat is a portmanteau of modern nature.

Monat Revive Shampoo

My hair hasn’t looked so good in a long time as it did after using these samples. I later realised the samples contain silicones, which make my hair look great, but I generally avoid because of their impact on the environment. There’s still a lot I don’t know about silicones and their effects, so I just avoid them.

The shampoo is very concentrated. A double wash is definitely needed, but on the second wash you only need the tiniest amount.

As for the benefits, my hair colour looked richer and my hair was shinier. I went longer between washes, which was a bonus.

Although I really love this shampoo, I wouldn’t buy it because it contains silicones and cetrimonium chloride, which is an ingredient I avoid.

Monat Revitalize Conditioner

I was very impressed with the performance of the conditioner, too. It made my hair shiny and manageable.

Monat Revitalise Conditioner

I was a bit surprised to find polyquaternium-7 and amodimethicone in there, which are ingredients I generally avoid. I’m super cautious because I have psoriasis on my scalp, but for those with healthy scalps, it’s a different matter.

Botanico Vida Omega Oil

This came in the May LoveLula Beauty Box. It’s a really lovely oil that can be used on the face or body.

Botanico Vida Omega Oil

Sacha inchi is a superfood ingredient that helps with a multitude of skin complaints.

Faith in Nature Brave Botanicals Coconut and Frangipani Conditioner
