Copura Coconut and Aloe Toothpaste review

Copura Coconut and Aloe Toothpaste

In this post, I review the healthy and delicious Copura Coconut and Aloe Toothpaste.

I don’t review toothpaste very often on my blog. I have quite sensitive teeth and I need to use a sensitive toothpaste once a day to keep my teeth calm.

As I’ve mentioned in other toothpaste reviews, I’d love a natural brand to bring out a natural toothpaste containing the magic ingredient potassium nitrate. Maybe I should DIY it. Anyway, that’s another post!

Disclosure: I was gifted Copura Coconut and Aloe Toothpaste by Copura. My views are honest and my own.

I use natural toothpaste once a day, so I was happy to try Copura Coconut and Aloe Toothpaste and excited to see how it could benefit my teeth and mouth. Most people know about the dental benefits of coconut and aloe, they’re such lovely ingredients.

Copura claim the ingredients will provide a complete new oral health experience. They state that the combination of aloe vera and coconut oil will give you fresh breath and stain-free teeth.

Holding Copura Coconut and Aloe Toothpaste

I was reassured to learn that the toothpaste contains no harsh foaming agents like SLS, and no microbeads. Additionally, it is fluoride and alcohol free.

Let’s have a look at the lovely ingredients.

Copura Coconut and Aloe Toothpaste ingredients

Aqua (Water), Hydrated Silica, Glycerin, Sorbitol, Xylitol, Cellulose Gum, Krameria Triandra Root Extract, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Bisabolol, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut) Oil, Aroma (Flavour), Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Glycyrrhetinic Acid, Menthol, Cocamidopropyl Betaine, Sodium Benzoate.

Coconut

It’s well known that coconut oil can be used to clean the teeth. Coconut oil reduces harmful bacteria in the mouth and can help to whiten teeth.

Aloe

Known for its soothing and healing properties, aloe vera is a comforting addition to this toothpaste. It’s less abrasive than some ingredients used in toothpaste and can be helpful to those with sensitivity.

Xylitol

A great addition to any toothpaste, xylitol is a plant-derived natural sweetener. It helps to maintain the pH of the mouth and prevent bacteria from sticking to the teeth. Because of these qualities, it helps protect against tooth decay and cavities.

Krameria

Also known as rhatany, krameria is a traditional remedy used in dental preparations. It contains tannins that are astringent, reducing inflammation of the gums.

Bisabolol

One of the main constituents of German chamomile essential oil. There is some evidence that it has antimicrobial properties and is helpful to keep breath fresh when used with tea tree essential oil.

Tea tree essential oil

Along with its fresh taste and smell, tea tree is a natural antiseptic. Too high a concentration of essential oils that kill bacteria in the mouth may not be a good thing, since we need useful bacteria there to keep harmful bacteria under control. This article about essential oils in toothpaste explains in detail.

Using Copura Coconut and Aloe Toothpaste

The toothpaste comes in a large squeezable plastic tube. There is some separation of the product which is helped a little with a good shake and squeeze of the tube.

Copura Coconut and Aloe Toothpaste on my hand

This toothpaste tastes like heaven. It really does taste like coconut, I love it. There’s also a slight tea tree taste which isn’t at all overpowering.

I need to use a really big squeeze of it to feel like I’m getting enough throughout my whole brush.

As a low-foaming toothpaste, I don’t get a mouthful of foam when cleaning my teeth with this toothpaste. I actually like that, though.

Afterwards, my mouth and teeth feel smooth and clean. My breath smells fresh – or so my husband tells me! The feeling lasts a while, which is nice.

Final thoughts on Copura Coconut and Aloe Toothpaste

This is a lovely natural toothpaste that tastes great and cleans well. It has some very healthy ingredients to help your gums, teeth, and overall dental health. It tastes great too, which is always a bonus.

The price is extremely reasonable for the 100ml of toothpaste in the tube.
