Laboratoire du Haut-Segala for natural wellbeing

Laboratoire du Haut-Segala

Searching for new rose floral waters lead me to discover French organic natural beauty brand Laboratoire du Haut-Segala. The brand was new to me, and I have to say I hadn’t heard the brand mentioned in the LoveLula Natural Beauty Facebook group. Reading their credentials, I became interested in their products. Let me tell you why.

Disclosure: I was gifted Laboratoire du Haut-Segala products by Eco Beauty Shop. My views are honest and my own.

The brand has a total passion for plants and aims to bring the benefits of plants to us through their Ecocert certified organic products. The range centres on multi-use floral waters, oils, and body butters.

I love that Laboratoire du Haut-Segala aims to help me find products that improve my health and wellbeing, without harming the environment.

As you would expect, the products are high quality. Virgin cold-pressed plant oils from specially selected seeds, flowers, and fruits, carefully maintaining the active properties of the source. Only 100% pure and natural ingredients, rich in essential fatty acids and vitamins with no preservatives or added fragrance. The brand doesn’t test on animals.

I was sent some Laboratoire du Haut-Segala products to try by Eco Beauty Shop. Read on to find out how I got on.

Organic Body Butter with Argan Oil

This sumptuous body butter is pure goodness. I chose it because it’s for dry and mature skin types. It contains just 3 ingredients – organic shea butter, organic virgin cold-pressed argan oil, and organic cocoa butter. At 38, my skin is close to the mature category. In parts, the skin on my body is dry – my elbows, hands, and feet all get very dry if I don’t keep up with regular moisturising.

Organic Body Butter with Argan Oil

This butter has a slightly nutty aroma of shea which isn’t too strong. It’s best to warm the body butter in your hands first before applying.

This is the kind of butter I use daily on my driest parts. I use it 2 or 3 times a week to really nourish my skin. It makes an excellent bump butter for pregnant mamas, as it doesn’t irritate as some heavily scented products do.

Using it on damp skin works best to speed up its absorption. It does take a little while to sink in, but it’s completely worth it. My skin is velvety soft and comfortable. I’m quite sure it’s improving the wrinkles on my hands, and the results are quite long lasting.

I can see this making it into my empties quite quickly!

Organic Tamanu Oil

This tamanu oil is 100% organic and virgin cold-pressed. I chose it because tamanu oil has definite benefits in pregnancy. The reason for this is that tamanu oil encourages new skin growth and elasticity. It also helps with circulation and drainage – I’ve read it may strengthen blood vessels and help fractured blood vessels to repair.

I’ve always had a problem with spider veins in my legs. It seems to be genetic, since my mum and maternal grandmother both suffer(ed) with problem veins. I got the start of a varicose vein during my pregnancy with Jonah, and it’s only got worse in this pregnancy.

If tamanu oil can help at all, I’ll be really happy.

To add to its benefits, it’s a good treatment for stretch marks, and useful in perineal massage. I’m also wondering if I can use it to heal my perineal area after my baby is born.

The oil is quite thick, a lovely green colour, and in my opinion smells quite strongly of celery or nuts. I’m massaging it into my legs regularly, maybe 2 or 3 times a week.

I’m quite sure the heat in my legs has reduced which has made me feel more comfortable. I was so impressed to find the appearance of my veins has lessened slightly. I’d love to keep using the oil over a longer period and especially after my baby is born to try to repair the damage to the veins in my legs.

Aside from leg and vein care, there are so many other uses for this oil, please do take a look.

I made a cooling anti-swelling and anti-cramping pregnancy foot scrub with the oil yesterday, it’s complete heaven for swollen feet! This is why I love Laboratoire du Haut-Segala products – they have so many uses.

Organic Neroli Water

I’ve been so curious to try neroli water. As a little girl I used to play under my mum’s mock orange blossom tree, taking in the intoxicating fragrance and listening to the bees enjoying the flowers. Happy days!

Organic Neroli Water

It was so exciting to learn that Laboratoire du Haut-Segala offer a high quality 100% steam-distilled organic neroli hydrosol. I use a lot of rose floral water and this is the first time I’ve tried a different floral water.

There are so many uses for this floral water. I mainly use it to tone my skin after cleansing, and to refresh my skin with a few spritzes during hot pregnant mama moments! I’ll also be using it to help absorption of body butters and oils, and to mix with powdered clay masks.

The benefits of neroli water are interesting – it refreshes the look of tired skin, cleanses, tones, and tightens the skin while minimising the appearance of pores.

Luckily for me, it may also improve dark eye bags – perfect as I’m not getting much sleep and running around after my toddler is quite tiring!

My favourite benefit is the feeling of wellbeing the fragrance of this water creates – it’s so blissful!
