Botanicals Foot Rescue Balm for cared-for feet

My feet caused me such embarrassment as a teenager. Not only were they sweaty, yet dry and cracked, they were often uncomfortable from wearing the wrong shoes. At thirty something, I know the right footwear, alongside a solid foot care routine is the best way to healthy, soft, sweet smelling feet. In this post, I share my review of Botanicals Foot Rescue Balm, a wonderful natural product that works so well as part of my foot care routine.

I’m already a big fan of Botanicals – their Gentle Moisturiser and Nourish Cream Cleanser are particularly good natural skincare basics. So I jumped at the chance to try this beautiful foot balm.

All Botanicals products are handmade in Britain, Soil Association certified organic, and suitable for vegans. Botanicals balms are made entirely with plant derived ingredients – no animal products or mineral oil. The oils used are cold-pressed, making for a high-quality finished product.

Botanicals Foot Rescue Balm

Botanicals describe the balm as a nourishing way to soften hard skin and nurture over-worked feet. With foot-loving essential oils, the balm is naturally antibacterial.

The foot balm was one of three Botanicals products to win silver in the 2014 ‘FreeFrom Awards’.

This all sounds perfect, so let’s take a look how I got on with the balm.

My experience using Botanicals Foot Rescue Balm

This soft white balm comes in a sturdy dark glass jar. The design of the packaging is classically Botanicals. The balm has a delicate fresh mint and tea tree fragrance.

I’ve been using this balm daily for about a month and I’m seeing great results. My feet are soft and crack-free. I melt a pea-size amount in-between my palms before smoothing it on to each foot. It works really well on damp skin straight after a shower in the morning. I also use it at night just before bed. A soothing foot rub is a lovely way to unwind!

Using just the right amount and massaging for a minute ensures it sinks in really well, leaving feet comfortable, soft, and smelling fresh.

By the way, as a breastfeeding mama, I’m careful not to use too much peppermint in skincare. It may dry up breast milk!

Let’s take a look at the ingredients.

Botanicals Foot Rescue Balm ingredients

Helianthus Annus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Prunus Armeniaca (Apricot) Kernel Oil, Cetyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glycerine, Tocopherol, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Oil, Mentha Spicata (Spearmint) Leaf Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree), Leaf Oil, Zea Mays Seed Flour, Limonene, Linalool.

How do the ingredients help?

Sunflower seed oil is rich in fatty acids, perfect for dry skin, while shea butter deeply moisturises and helps to heal cracked skin.

Peppermint essential oil is soothing, cooling, and anti-fungal – great for nails as well as feet.

Spearmint is antibacterial and anti-inflammatory, it’s anti-spasmodic so could help with achey cramping feet. It’s also a mood booster.

Tea tree is well known for its anti-fungal and antibacterial properties.

Final thoughts on Botanicals Foot Rescue Balm

I’m so happy to use this fabulous foot balm as part of my daily routine. The well chosen ingredients really help to pamper feet, keeping them soft and comfortable.
