As a busy mum to two, this brand seems to know exactly what I need and want. Skincare products that deliver fast and effective results, without taking too much time? Check. A spa-like experience that doesn’t take hours? Yes, please. Tactile, vibrant, and naturally-scented products? Love it. And of course, beautiful well cared for skin!

Native Essentials founder Daniela Pelonaram – a qualified natural skincare formulator and professional aromatologist, formulates her products using native plants and aromatic botanicals from pure and ethical sources.

I want the woman who uses Native Essentials to feel special, to simplify her beauty routine and to experience clean skincare that truly performs.

At first glance, Native Essentials Skincare will have you intrigued. Once you let yourself be drawn in by the sleek packaging, you’ll find a whole modular skincare system up for grabs.

What is this modular system? You mix and match Native Essentials products based your skin’s daily needs. At its core are water-based serums, a hydrating yet lightweight cream, and multitasking oils. The benefit is that fewer products are needed for a complete beauty routine. All Native Essentials products come packaged in glass with recyclable lids.

I chose 3 Native Essentials products. HAE, a water-based light moisturiser, AZUR, a calming oil with blue tansy, and SOLE, an exfoliant gel to milk mask, which had me at its amazing colour and texture. I knew I had to have it, and I didn’t regret it!

So let’s take a look at them all now.

Native Essentials Skincare

SOLE Exfoliant Gel to Milk Mask

SOLE is the Italian word for sun, and isn’t this mask just stunning? And all natural! “Channeling sun-kissed Italian summers, SOLE delivers triple-polishing action for the ultimate glow”.

Native Essentials SOLE Exfoliant Gel to Milk Mask

It contains AHAs from fermented berries, biodegradable jojoba beads, and activated charcoal to remove impurities. Luscious olive and rosehip oils nourish the skin and boost radiance.

What I love about this mask, aside from the stunning colour and texture, is that it only takes a few minutes to use, yet the results are tangible. After one use I found myself with smoother, brighter skin.

And the fragrance, oh my! Vanilla, sweet and juicy orange, lemon peel, and a tiny bit of spearmint make for a cheerful and sunny blend – perfect for a winter pick-me-up.

How does it work? To use as a mask, simply apply a small amount of the thick gel and leave on for 3 to 5 minutes. To exfoliate, gently massage the product into the skin. Finally, use damp hands to massage to a milky texture, then rinse.

This has to be my favourite Native Essentials product. It is such a useful part of my skincare routine and saves me a lot of time since it cleanses and exfoliates both manually and chemically at the same time. Bliss in a jar!

HAE Time Release Light Moisturiser

So, on to HAE – which means “sea” in Korean. “HAE is your Korean skincare routine distilled into one simple, easy-to-use product.” I am absolutely bowled over by the amazing ingredients in this moisturiser – bamboo hydrosol, probiotics, antioxidants, mineral-rich aloe vera from Jeju Island, and sacha inchi oil.

Native Essentials HAE Time Release Light Moisturiser

This clever little time-release moisturiser keeps skin hydrated for up to 12 hours with the ingredient glycoin. It’s suitable for all skin types, protects cells from UV damage (but don’t skip the sunscreen!), protects skin’s microbiome, and stimulates collagen and elastin production.

Two pumps is enough for my entire face and neck. This moisturiser is unscented. It feels like a rich cream, but it’s not at all oily or greasy. It sinks in quickly and leaves my skin feeling comforted and soft.

As for the longevity of the cream, my skin feels well hydrated from morning until my pm routine. I’ve been using the cream for a few weeks and I’ve found my skin’s moisture levels are well maintained, even in winter.

This is a beautiful cream and it feels like I’m making a great investment in the future of my skin. I can’t wait to see how we get on over the coming months.

Azur Calming Light Oil

The beautiful blue colour of this oil appealed to me right away. It comes from the calming floral oil blue tansy, which is a type of chamomile known for its soothing qualities.

Native Essentials Azur Calming Light Oil

I was bowled over by the oil’s promise to “calm and soothe stressed skin, stimulate cellular function, increase elasticity, and slow photo-ageing and hyperpigmentation”.

There is so much to love about this oil! Organically grown and cold pressed, some of the ingredients include retinol-rich cacay oil to stimulate the production of new skin cells, and fight photo-ageing and hyperpigmentation.

Then there’s vitamin E-rich watermelon seed oil which is rich in lycopene and carotenoids to reduce the appearance of fine lines.

I use 3-4 drops of the oil and press it into my skin after using HAE. I love the lavender and honey fragrance and the blue colour, both have such a beneficial and calming effect. The oil sinks in really quickly leaving a non-greasy finish.

My skin has definitely benefited from the oil, especially as it’s calmed down some redness on my skin after using vitamin C and glycolic acid. I really love the whole experience of this oil and the ingredients are simply amazing. I can’t wait to see the results over time.
