Kear Greek Skincare: ancient Greek skincare reborn

Welcome back, beauties! Today I’m introducing a wonderful natural Greek skincare brand that I know you will love as much as I do – introducing Kear Skincare.

Kear Greek Skincare

Hydrate and Relax Body Oil

This luxurious body oil promises to seal in moisture, fortify the skin, and provide antioxidant protection. It contains olive oil, sweet almond oil, beeswax, chamomile, and rosemary.

It comes in a gorgeous white glass bottle with wooden cap, although there is plastic inside the cap. It looks so elegant and holiday-like on my bathroom shelf!

Because of the beeswax, I find it changes consistency based on the temperature. Sometimes it can be quite thick, but it always runs a little – it’s like a liquid balm!

It smells absolutely beautiful. I can detect the olive oil, but only just so. And there’s a refreshing chamomile and citrus-like hint.

I use it straight after a shower or bath because it sinks in faster this way. Only a tiny amount is needed, a little really does go a long way. I love how protected my skin feels wearing this oil! It’s like a lovely cocoon against the elements, and it works really well against the drying summer sun.

It certainly is relaxing to use, and I love how supple my skin is becoming with daily use.

Chamomile Herbal Soap

Kear Chamomile Herbal Soap is anti-inflammatory and soothing. Described as perfect for sensitive skin, its antioxidant-rich formula fights acne and breakouts. Use it for face, body, or hands. It contains chamomile for its healing and anti-inflammatory properties.

The soap comes in a very pretty plastic-free cardboard box. It’s a light gold colour, embossed with a geometric pattern. My 3 year old finds it very interesting! I can see flecks of natural ingredients embedded inside the soap.

Kear follows the same traditional healing formulas the artisan washerwomen of rural Greece used to make soaps in the springtime

Chamomile Herbal Soap is great for hands due to its antiseptic nature. We’ve also found it non-drying and soothing during the extra Coronavirus outbreak hand washing.

The scent is almost vintage, it’s so evocative of another time – fresh and comforting. I really love it.

The soap lathers so well and has never dried my skin out. I find the soap is great value for money. It stands up well to frequent use, and keeps its shape in my soap dish.

A lovely soap that I’d definitely repurchase and recommend!

Mastic Herbal Soap

This herbal soap is best for oily skin. What is mastic? It’s a resin that seeps from the mastic tree (Pistacia Lentiscus). It’s an exclusively Greek substance used by Greeks throughout history for a youthful and glowing complexion.

The soap contains Chios mastic essential oil to deep cleanse and control excess sebum. It’s rich in antioxidants, promotes elasticity, and nourishes the skin.

The soap looks similar to the chamomile soap with its pretty embossing. It also stands up to the rigours of the soap dish.

With its pine-like fragrance, it smells so clean and fresh.

I love how the soap cleanses all over – face, body, and hair. Both soaps are fantastic multi-use products that can save you time in the bathroom or whilst travelling. They help the environment by reducing plastic packaging.

Kear do mention that the soap can be used as a makeup remover, although I haven’t used it this way because I love my balm and oil cleansers. It’d make a refreshing second part of a double cleanse to remove all traces of a first cleanse.

As a shampoo, it cleans effectively without stripping moisture from my hair.

An observation about both the soaps is their strong fragrance. The fragrance lingers on the skin, and maybe this is for you, maybe not. Personally, I do like it. Most naturally fragranced soaps are very mild, and for me having a detectable fragrance adds to the feeling of cleanliness.

If you have sensitivities to essential oils, I would proceed with caution since the strong fragrance suggests a high concentration of essential oils. That said, myself and my children have no problem at all using the soaps daily!

In fact, the skin on my hands is feeling really good and my eczema is soothed. My hands always feel dry after washing but the soaps help to nourish my hands instead of simply stripping them.

I love that Kear has revisited ancient and fascinating skincare from Greek history with these wonderful natural products.

They really do stand out as something unique, letting us experience the natural bounty that this beautiful country has to offer.
