Inika Pure Perfection Primer

What a stunning organic primer this is. And from the claims, it seems to be more than a primer, with some very nice skincare benefits.

Inika Pure Perfection Primer

According to Inika, it’s clinically proven to:

  • Rapidly reduce the appearance of wrinkles around the eye and neck area in just one hour
  • Restore skin firmness in one day
  • Visibly reduce sagging skin in the neck area in 28 days

Amongst the ingredients are kangaroo paw extract, hyaluronic acid, and jojoba oil to create the appearance of firmer, smoother skin.

I’ve often questioned whether or not to use a primer, since I like to keep my routine simple and don’t want any more steps. But using a primer is all about your skin’s finish. Using a primer creates the perfect canvas for makeup, improving its longevity. If you’re not wearing makeup, a primer acts as a finishing product for glowing skin.

So does Pure Perfection live up to all its claims? It certainly adds a level of polish to my skincare routine. My foundation stays true for longer, and the primer has a nice blurring effect on my fine lines.

I’m still working my way through the product to see how it fares longer term. I’ll update you in my empties post.

Laidbare Glow Laidbare! Facial Self Tanner

The truth is, I like to look pale. But for those who don’t, there’s Laidbare Facial Self Tanner. This self-tanner brings a naturally sun kissed complexion to those not wanting to risk tanning in the sun or on a sunbed.

Laidbare Glow Laidbare! Facial Self Tanner

You can blend it with Laidbare’s other products for a softer effect. Or you can apply it twice over 48 hours for a super tanned look.

I found the fresh-scented gel really easy to apply before bed. I woke up to a very tanned looking face and surprised myself in the mirror the next morning. The result was even and not at all patchy (thanks, regular exfoliation).

After 48 hours the tan had faded and was completely gone after 5 days. If I ever need a facial self tanner, this is the one I’ll use. It’s great value for money!

Mádara Plant Stem Cell Age-Defying Sunscreen SPF30

This little travel size sunscreen took me completely by surprise. It’s really, really good, and I’d definitely consider buying the full sized product next season. It takes natural sunscreen to another level with protective antioxidants, raspberry seed oil, and vitamin E.

Mádara Plant Stem Cell Age-Defying Sunscreen SPF30

Why do I love it so? The texture (not chalky), ease of application (super silky), and finish (texture evened, really glowy) are superb.

This sunscreen is actually tinted, and claims to blend in to all skin tones. When I first squeezed some from the tube my heart sank, as it looked too dark for me. I didn’t need to worry – it blends invisibly and beautifully. It also smells great – fresh and natural.

The only downside is that, unlike with un-tinted white sunscreen, you can’t exactly see where you’ve applied it!

Mádara Plant Stem Cell Age-Defying Sunscreen SPF30 flies straight on to my wishlist!

FOM London Face Cleansing Cream

It’s been a while since I used a cream cleanser, but I was pleased to see this dinky travel size in the box. FOM London are known for creating some quite lovely anti-pollution skincare. Great for town dwellers like me!

FOM London Face Cleansing Cream

One interesting ingredient is FOM London’s proprietary ingredient “ANTIOXSILK” which consists of plant-based antioxidants, adaptogens, and silk that work together improve skin’s defences. It also contains neroli, papaya, and dandelion which together exfoliate, detoxify, and calm irritation.

FOM London Face Cleansing Cream promises to leave skin cleansed, balanced, and hydrated – and it does this perfectly. It even effectively removes eye makeup.

Balm and oil cleansers will always be my favourite, but this is great cream cleanser to try, especially if you have pollution concerns – and so many of us do.
