Antipodes Skincare

Hosanna H2O Intensive Skin Plumping Serum

This water-based and oil-free serum promises to plump up your skin’s appearance. It’s vegan and suited to most skin types – especially dry or dehydrated. It aims to quench thirsty skin and help to improve its radiance over time.

Antipodes Hosanna H2O Intensive Skin Plumping Serum

As for ingredients, there’s antioxidant rich Vinanza® grape from New Zealand sauvignon blanc grapes. Vinanza® grape helps to protect skin from environmental aggressors and pollutants. Extract of mamaku black fern helps skin look renewed. Instead of plain water, Antipodes use Waiwera® Artesian Water.

Hosanna H2O Intensive Skin Plumping Serum has been scientifically shown to stimulate Type I collagen production in human fibroblast skin cells by up to 72%

I use Hosanna in my AM routine before moisturiser to anti-age my routine and bring extra moisture to my skin.

Texture of Antipodes Hosanna H2O Intensive Skin Plumping Serum

Hosanna comes in a dark glass bottle with a dropper. It took me by surprise the first time I used it, as its colour is slightly reddish brown. Applying to my fingertips, the serum is light and watery with not much slip. It has a delicate fragrance of vanilla. I love how quickly it absorbs into my skin.

My skin feels soft and comfortable after use – there’s no shininess or residue that I can see. I love that it seems to plump out my wrinkles to make them less visible. I even apply some to the backs of my hands since they’re the most aged part of me!

All in all, this serum makes a great everyday anti-ageing serum in your collection, since it gives immediate plumping results and future proofs the skin with antioxidants.

Kiwi Seed Gold Luminous Eye Cream

Yes, this eye cream contains real gold! And according to Antipodes, the pure 23K gold flakes impart a warm, healthy glow while helping to calm stressed skin.

Antipodes Kiwi Seed Gold Luminous Eye Cream

The eye cream gets its name from the vitamin C rich New Zealand kiwi fruit oil it contains. This oil adds immediate moisture to soften fine lines under the eyes. This eye cream, like Hosanna, also contains Vinanza® grape, but also kiwi fruit to brighten and lighten the under-eye area.

It comes in a small dark glass jar and is a warm yellow colour. I can see small flecks of gold inside the cream.

I use Kiwi Seed Gold morning and night as recommended. Applying a small amount with a clean ring finger to my eye area, I notice this cream is fragrance free but has a mild fragrance from the natural ingredients it contains. It feels very light, but nourishing. There’s no drag on the skin when applying.

I notice right away a beautifully subtle but “lit” look to my under eye area. My eye area looks and feels really well hydrated. I love how smooth my skin looks after using the cream. There’s no sign of puffiness or irritation first thing in the morning after wearing the cream in my PM routine.

I really love Kiwi Seed Gold Eye Cream because it adds such a touch of luxury to my routine. I think it would make a great gift!

Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser & Makeup Remover

This robust cream cleanser gently removes makeup and promises to cleanse even the most sensitive of skin without irritation. The formulation includes super-antioxidant Vinanza® Oxifend, nutrient-rich avocado oil, and marigold to cleanse, freshen, and soften the skin. It’s suited to most skin types.

Antipodes Grace Gentle Cream Cleanser & Makeup Remover

I absolutely love the squeezable metal tube packaging, it’s great how Antipodes avoid plastic packaging as much as they can.

For my PM routine, I take a good size dollop of this rich but not greasy cleanser and smooth it over my palms. The fragrance is like vanilla and cinnamon, it’s absolutely delicious. With a blissful massage into my skin, I can feel both my makeup and daily stresses slipping away.

I use a warm flannel to remove the cleanser and follow with a second cleanse, usually with a gel cleanser. I always wear sunscreen so a double cleanse is totally necessary. My skin feels comfortable and clean. I think Grace does just as well as a richer balm or oil cleanser. It makes light work of eye makeup!

Grace is universally appealing and should suit everybody. I love Antipodes’ focus on antioxidants and how they include them in all their products. Grace is so yummy and a real treat to use!

Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream

Last but not least, the luxurious Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream. This really is a superstar night cream for bringing deep hydration and nourishment all night long.

Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream

The night cream contains New Zealand Manuka honey to draw moisture into dry skin. As with the other Antipodes products I tried, it also contains Vinanza® grape to fight the visible signs of ageing. It’s especially suited to dry and mature skin types, which is pretty much me.

I really enjoy the thick, creamy texture, light green colour, and fragrant experience this night cream brings. It smells a little of avocado, but also earthy patchouli – I adore it!

It’s rich and hydrating, without being overly greasy. It takes a little longer to sink in than a day cream, but that’s what I want from a night cream. I want to know it’s going to last all night so I don’t wake up dry and parched, especially when I’ve been using acids or retinol.

Waking up with gorgeously soft skin that feels deeply nourished, I totally recommend this night cream for a hydrating treat.

PS I recently reviewed Antipodes Culture Probiotic Night Cream which complements Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream perfectly.

  1. I’ve actually heard amazing things about their face cream (I think they have a vanilla smelling one) but the pear one sounds unreal and exactly what I need right now

    • That’s great, the day creams are nice too. I have a couple of travel sizes. The night cream is so good, especially heading into winter!

    • Thanks for asking Kristina! Thinking back to that time, I remember the cream feeling too rich for my skin type in spring. Since then, I’ve started using more acids and retinol, so my skin really appreciates a richer cream afterwards. My skin needs change over the seasons and situationally, depending on what else I’m doing with my skin.

    • They’re lovely Emma, I love that they’re results driven but also really focusing on the sensory aspect of using the products.

  2. With the skin issues my daughter and I have, finding products that don’t irritate out skin is becoming a challenge. I’m glad I’ve found another option. Thanks!

  3. I have never heard of this brand! I need to look into it. That facecream sounds amazing!

  5. It sounds like a really lovely brand. Thank you for the introduction Helen.
