What a month July has been for me personally. We’re in the process of choosing a new house and readying ours for sale, and did you hear my news over on Instagram? We’re expecting our third child in October! So I’m trying to put my feet up a little in the evening which means less blogging.
However, there will always be time for empties, where I share the skincare, haircare, and beauty we’ve used up through the month. And I have another bumper month for you! Packed with summer skincare essentials and beauty products to help you feel good!
In July, I used up a gorgeous digital detox face mist, solid shampoo bar, hydrating moisturiser, vetiver face mask, and more. My kids went through 3 natural sunscreens plus a grizzly mane detantangler!

Kicking off my July 2021 natural beauty empties is this face mist for screen junkies. And if, like me, you spend too much time at your computer or using your phone, then Ilapothecary Digital Face Mist is for you!
This refreshing and rosy hydrator claims to protect, regenerate, and detoxify the skin.
It does this through high levels of antioxidants and free radical scavengers. These help protect cells from inflammation and help to prevent photo-ageing.

EarthKind Shampoo Bar for Dry & Coloured Hair
EarthKind are hands down my favourite solid shampoo and conditioner bars. My kids love them too. I honestly see the same results as with a liquid shampoo – soft, shiny and manageable hair. I love the delicate fragrance too!
Admittedly, solid shampoos take a little longer to use but the zero plastic payoff is definitely worth it.

Typology Nourishing Moisturiser 1% Hyaluronic Acid + Shea Butter
This basic daily moisturiser came with a bunch of other Typology goodies I gratefully received from the brand. I wasn’t overwhelmed by it at first, but it gradually showed itself to be a lightweight but highly effective moisturiser.
I like that it fits in so well with other products in my routine. It’s fragrance free so it helps me to enjoy the fragrances of my serums and facial oils. And I like how quickly it sinks in, leaving my skin well hydrated thanks to its hyaluronic acid content, but with no residue or shininess.

Clockface Beauty Face Mask Rhassoul Clay & Vetiver
I love vetiver in skincare, so this Clockface Beauty Face Mask was a great LoveLula pick! It cleanses, tones, and softens while smelling so refreshing and earthy.
I love how my skin feels after using this mask and I like how easy it is to wash off, too. A great weekly addition to any masking routine!

Mar Galliti Youth Elixir Oil Serum
This small bottle of Mar Galliti Youth Elixir Oil Serum gave me a lovely taste of the brand. They make such interesting products! The oil is no exception – it smells potent and alive.
It contains moringa and passion fruit oils to nourish and protect the skin. I also spotted spilanthes acmella extract in the ingredients, which is known as nature’s botox plant. Some of the fragrance comes from lavender and chamomile essential oils, which also work to tone and soothe the skin. The fragrance is very complex though – smell it to believe it!

Antipodes Kiwi Seed Gold Eye Cream
I’m not a huge fan of using eye creams in my routine since it’s another step that can easily be fulfilled by a regular moisturiser. I do like this Antipodes Kiwi Seed Gold Eye Cream however, as it lightens up the eye area with real gold for a luminous finish.
As well as generally hydrating the area, it boasts some exciting claims to improve elasticity and reduce redness. These appear to be validated by studies in the lab. Definitely worth a try if you love eye cream!

Alteya Organics Cold Pressed Rosehip Seed Oil
Alteya Organics Rosehip Oil is an amazing value for money face oil for your collection. Great for treating summer skin, the certified organic oil is rich in protective antioxidants.
I found it plumping, soothing, and moisturising. I love the rich golden colour and summery scent of seeds. It looks like it’s bursting with life! A really good oil.

Weleda Perineum Massage Oil
I bought this to use in my third trimester while pregnant with Cara. I didn’t use it all up at the time, and it got past its date. So I used it up as a regular body oil.
It has the same gorgeous fragrance as Weleda Stretch Mark Massage Oil. Now that I’m expecting baby number 3, I’ll be starting perineal massage again at 34 weeks so a repurchase will certainly be in order!

Black Palm Natural Deodorant Clay
I was so happy to receive a bundle of the amazing Black Palm natural cosmetics a few months ago, and this Natural Deodorant Clay was the first to be finished. It does a really good job of combatting odour, with its fresh lavender scent.
You should go take a look at Black Palm – they have some really nice eco-conscious natural beauty products to choose from.

Good Bubble Grizzly Mane Detangler with Prickly Pear Extract
A great value for money detangler with some lovely ingredients including tea tree and prickly pear.
My daughter’s often wild and curly hair is really thankful for this Good Bubble Detangling Spray after her bath before we brush it out.

AYAN Mineral Sunscreen Lotion for Baby and Adults SPF50
This Ayan SPF50 Sunscreen is sunscreen for babies and small children done right. The protection level is superb – we’ve yet to have a burn while using it. But, it’s very thick, very white, and it does contain beeswax so it’s not a vegan option.
I really appreciate the small number of simple ingredients, so if you’re looking for a kids sunscreen that simplifies sun care and is the most natural choice, this could well be it.

Suntribe Kids Vanilla Sunscreen SPF30
July was a scorcher wasn’t it? And we also used up this Suntribe Kids Sunscreen, which we all love! Especially the delicious scent which makes it a bit easier to apply. It’s a thick, water resistant zinc oxide sunscreen that leaves somewhat of a cast, but does the job well.
Just like the AYAN sunscreen, Suntribe sunscreen contains very minimal ingredients for a worry free experience. I also love that it comes in sugar cane packaging which is less burdensome on the environment.

Only Good The Hydrator Mist & Facial Toner
I picked up this gorgeously sweet scented hydrating mist in Holland & Barrett and didn’t regret it!
It’s designed to balance and hydrate the skin with soothing chamomile, toning blue plum, and hyaluronic acid. Show me more from Only Good please!
Ecodenta Toothpaste for Sensitive Teeth
I usually use a mainstream toothpaste, but this is the only natural toothpaste I can use regularly to help my sensitive teeth.
I love that it contains potassium nitrite to combat sensitivity, while natural chamomile and clove work to soothe the mouth. Contains fluoride. And what amazing value for money it is!

Antipodes Avocado Pear Nourishing Night Cream
When I first tried this Antipodes Avocado Pear Night Cream, I was sure it wasn’t right for me. But soon my skin was thanking me for this rich and deeply moisturising cream – especially while using exfoliating acids.
Its ingredients include manuka honey and vinanza grape, and make it truly suited to maturing and dry skin. Read my full review of this and several other Antipodes products – I’m a real fan of Antipodes!

I bought this when my hand eczema was at its peak. I later discovered that regular soap was the trigger for my hand eczema so now this Hope’s Relief Cleansing Bar is my kitchen friend!
It’s softly foaming and very caring, I can definitely recommend it to anybody suffering with dry and irritated skin.

Odylique Natural Sun Screen SPF30
I feel like I didn’t get enough time trying out Odylique Natural Sun Screen as I opened it during a mini heatwave. Subsequently, it was gone in about a week as I had nothing else for the kids! Nonetheless, I still really like it!
This sunscreen I feel is perfectly suited to the face – it’s zinc oxide based with no other filters but it has a slight yellow tint that blends seamlessly with pale skin tones – not sure how it would work on darker skin tones. I like that it’s vegan and contains some nice botanicals such as sea buckthorn and chamomile. A lovely sunscreen to try!

Timeless Matrixyl Synthe’6 Serum
This serum is by no means what I would consider natural or botanical, but as a gift from my beautiful friend it made it to my empties anyway and is worth a mention! The ingredients are very interesting and contain nothing controversial.
This serum was developed for its ability to boost 6 skin rebuilding essentials, including three different types of collagen, two types of proteins, and hyaluronic acid. Weleda Aknedoron Cleansing Lotion
Although not suited to my skin type or needs right now, I appreciated this highly fragrant cleansing lotion for blemished and acne-prone skin from Weleda.
It left my skin soft, refreshed, and hydrated without any dryness. Definitely one to try if you regularly experience breakouts and blemishes.

Laidbare Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow! Hair Minimising Cream
A refreshing and soothing gel that promises to minimise the appearance and growth of hair on the body. Along with being a great value for money moisturiser, it contains some really helpful ingredients for legs including vein strengthening horse chestnut.
I like the light and fragrant gel format, however it is very liquid and it’s easy to make a big mess with it. It was a welcome item inside the LoveLula October 2020 Beauty Box.
Typology 9-Ingredient Lip Balm
Unfortunately this lip balm and I didn’t get off to a great start. After leaving it in my drawer for a few weeks it appeared to be dried up. Cara chewed it which burst it open it about in four places. In the end I cut the tube and used it as both a lip and body balm to avoid it going bad.
It’s a really nice silky lip balm with extracts of lemon that seem to act like mint or menthol in the lip balm for a slight tingle on the lips. I really wanted to appreciate the innovative pointy applicator tip on this lip balm, but I think I prefer a softer doe foot applicator, although it’s great that it’s plastic free.

Gallinée Prebiotic Face Mask & Scrub
A nice gentle manual exfoliating scrub for a brighter complexion. Leave the scrub on and it’s also a purifying kaolin mask.

Fresh Vitamin Nectar Glow Mask
I really enjoyed this juicy and refreshing face mask from Fresh. It contains natural AHAs from crushed citrus fruits along with vitamins C, E, B5, and revitalising minerals.
My skin was left glowing and clear, and the trial size pot is good for a few applications.
