Welcome back, beauty lover! Today I’m sharing my pregnancy hospital bag essentials from LoveLula!
I’m now eight months pregnant and my preparations for a hospital birth are pretty much complete. It’s time to think about what to take to keep my spirits up and skin in good condition while in hospital.
After dreadfully overpacking for 2 hospital births in the past and barely using any of it, I’m thinking multi-tasking, small, and lightweight items that I can use again if I don’t use them during labour.
Here, I’m sharing the items I picked up from online natural beauty store LoveLula. There’s the energy boosting Ila Spa Vital Energy Aroma Roller, refreshing and hydrating Balm Balm Rose Floral Water Hydrosol, comforting Ila Spa The Big Sleep Mist, multi-tasking mini Lyonsleaf Try Oil Cleansing Pack, and trusty Weleda Nipple Balm.
Shall we learn more about them? Let’s do it!

Ila Spa Vital Energy Aroma Roller
Vital Energy Aroma Roller from Ila Spa is beautifully described as “a real shot of sunshine and smiles”, and is ideal for a boost when feeling a bit tired and fragile. I’m hoping the aroma roller will keep me going during the final days of pregnancy and also during labour.

It contains moringa, patchouli, lemongrass, rose geranium, and juniper berry oils which “work together to revitalise the body’s bio energy field, and elevate the senses”.
Is it suitable for pregnancy? Yes, the brand confirmed it. And does it boost energy? It certainly does! It’s a real tonic for happiness and bounciness, and the fragrance is long lasting too. I’m hoping it will help get me through the early days of breastfeeding too!

Balm Balm Rose Floral Water Hydrosol
In HypnoBirthing, visualising a rose opening can help labour to advance – so I intend to use this mini Balm Balm Rose Floral Water liberally. I find rose water very comforting and cooling at any time, and its familiarity will bring a lot of comfort during labour.

Rose water is really great for cleansing and hydrating the skin before using a balm on the face, so it’ll be a great help in my skincare routine while in hospital. I love the cute size too, which is perfect for my hospital bag. And it’s housed in glass, so there are no worries about plastic waste.
Balm Balm make lovely organic floral waters that are very affordable and just as good quality as more expensive brands.

Ila Spa The Big Sleep Mist
Sleeping in a hospital bed right after giving birth with all those exhilarating hormones flying around can be difficult, to say the least. So I’ve been using Ila Spa The Big Sleep Mist at home to build familiarity and positive sleep associations.

Described as “a quietly potent combination of plants and gemstone, including amethyst, lavender, and jasmine to bring calming and soothing energies that help to battle insomnia, release stress and inspire dreams”.
This one really is quite potent, only one spritz is needed to envelop my pillow in fragrant mist. It smells absolutely gorgeous – long lasting too, and would work for anybody battling sleep difficulties.
I really hope it helps me to drift off better at hospital. Of course, I’ll have one ear open for my new little girl next to me!

Lyonsleaf Try Oil Cleansing Pack
When thinking about what to pack in my hospital bag, I wanted to find a beauty balm that could be used as both a cleanser and a moisturiser.

So I was thrilled to find this handy Lyonsleaf Try Oil Cleansing Pack which contains a small supply of their Beauty Balm along with 5 cleansing cloths.
With babassu oil, shea butter, palmarosa, patchouli, and calendula flower to soothe, calm, and heal, there will be no need for any other cleansers or moisturisers to pack in my hospital bag. Hooray!

Weleda Nipple Balm
Weleda Nipple Balm is a true favourite of mine and a clear choice for my hospital bag and beyond. I probably won’t need it until I get home and the real boobing starts, but I’m packing it just in case!

This lanolin based nipple balm is formulated under the guidance of midwives and pharmacists to care for and protect sore nipples during breastfeeding. It helpfully doesn’t need to be removed before feeding, which is a must once the cluster feeding starts!
