Welcome back, dear friend. I have a small but mighty share for you this week – it’s the delectable Tam Mason Nourishing Hand Oil!

In this post we’re going to talk about why your hands need a hand oil, plus find out all about this fragrant and caring oil.

Tam Mason takes hand care to another level with her beautifully scented and cleverly formulated natural skin care. You may remember me featuring Tam Mason Sugar Scrubs back in January last year.

Her new product – this gorgeous hand oil with shea butter oil, oat oil, verbena, black pepper, and lavender essential oils, beautifully complements her existing range. It softens the hands and conditions the skin while improving the nails.

Why use a hand oil?

Have you ever used hand oil before? I afford my hands pretty much the same care as my face.

Serums, moisturisers, oils, and SPF – my hands are up for it all. After all, our hands show signs of ageing very quickly and take a lot of daily assaults from external aggressors.

Here are just some of the benefits. Use hand oil to:

  • Moisturise and soothe the hands
  • Provide extra conditioning
  • Give an antioxidant boost
  • Help prevent split, flaking nails

I frequently use my facial oils on my hands and nails, and they thank me for it. Just like wrinkle-busting oils for the face, A hand oil helps to keep the skin on the hands looking youthful.

So I was delighted to hear that Tam has turned her attention to creating a hand oil.

Shall we take a look at the hand oil now?

Tam Mason Nourishing Hand Oil

Tam promises this oil deeply conditions while absorbing quickly, with long lasting results.

The hand oil contains rich and protective shea butter oil and gentle oat oil. Tam adds nutrient rich rosehip oil to the formula, kiwi seed oil to condition and moisturise, and finally vitamin E to nourish the hands and protect the precious oil’s shelf life.

If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, proceed with caution since the product contains essential oils. As a breastfeeding mum, I’m not worried about using this product in small amounts, as the essential oils are very diluted. But if you’re concerned then do your research into essential oil safety.

Similarly, if you suffer with seriously broken skin on your hands, I’d avoid this product due to the essential oils. All fragrance compounds have the ability to sensitise or irritate, whether natural or not. Tam has mentioned the possibility of a fragrance free hand oil, so watch this space.

Tam Mason Hand Oil ingredients

Butyrospermum Parkii Oil, Avena Sativa Kernel Oil, Rosa Canina Fruit Oil, Actinidia Chinensis Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Helianthus Annus Seed Oil, Thymus Hiemalis Oil, Lavendula Angustifolia Oil, Piper Nigrum Fruit Oil.

The packaging is just stunning. A blue glass bottle with wooden stopper ring, all packaged up in a beautifully presented cardboard tube. It would make a stunning gift for a mum whose hands work hard.

Taking a few drops from the dropper, I notice how light and fragrant the oil is. The oil works best to keep skin hydrated when applied to damp skin. I keep mine near to the sink where I wash my hands.

As I smooth the oil in, it feels silky and comforting. There’s no greasy after feel though, and the oil sinks in beautifully to leave a soft and well cared for finish.

I love how Tam Mason Hand Oil boosts my hand care routine and my hands and nails look great for it! The fragrance lingers daintily on my hands, which brings me a little joy in my day.
