Hi there, dear friend! Back in December, I was delighted to be interviewed by the lovely Natalie Elliott for The Natural Beauty Show on UK Health Radio – talking safe baby skincare. During the show we talked about safe baby skincare, mothering during the pandemic, and what ingredients to avoid in baby skincare. I was so honoured to be included amongst the other guests, including Baby Centre and Scentered. A true pinch me moment! Natalie is the founder of Sakrid, a wonderful clean beauty brand you’ve maybe met already. Her love of clean formulas for all, her radio show discussing clean beauty issues, and her dedication to safer skincare, makes a real hero to me! Natalie and I plan to explore a mummy and baby product in collaboration, and I’ll keep you informed on this exciting development. It’s so refreshing to find female founders bringing on board real mums to…
Welcome back, skincare lover! In this post we’ll be looking at my Cult Beauty Christmas haul including the Best of 2021 Goody Bag. My husband chose some gorgeous gifts for me this year – everything from Cult Beauty – and the clever human bagged the long awaited free gift with purchase goody bag while he was at it. I can’t wait to show you what I got! Plus talk about the bag. It’s a real treasure trove – packed with 28 products – and worth over £370. There are so many great natural and clean gifting options on Cult Beauty, and plenty to help busy parents unwind, relax, and feel beautiful. But before we take a look at what my husband gifted me, let me express my gratitude. Thanks so much, Martin! I’m so grateful we can afford little luxuries at Christmas. So, let’s look at what my husband bought…
Hi again, empties lover! And welcome to my December 2021 natural beauty empties. If you’ve been following my blog, you’ll know we have a new(ish) baby in the family. Lydia is doing really well, and since her nap times and wake windows have become a little more defined, I’ve managed a little more chill-out time in the bathroom. Of course, no school run means more time in the morning for skincare. I’ve even enjoyed the odd face mask or relaxing bath in the evening. It’s so important to find time to relax, especially with all the Christmas prep! This month I have a small collection of empties, yet it contains two of my absolute favourites – Dafna’s Recovery Cleanser and Lilfox Couture Haute C Serum. There’s also nipple balm, coconut oil, kids’ body wash, and more! Let’s take a look. December 2021 natural beauty empties Dafna’s Recovery Cleanser This gorgeous…
Welcome back, dear friend! Have you tried Nordic skincare before? Today I’m sharing a few of the winners of the exciting Nordic Natural Beauty Awards! I know you’re going to want to find out more! The yearly awards showcase the finest beauty products from Nordic and Scandinavian countries such as Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden. The 50-strong judging panel comprises renowned Nordic stars from music, cinema, and fashion. I’ve had the pleasure of following along with the awards on Twitter and Instagram. The winners were announced on October 28th. I was totally bowled over to hear from the founders of the award and invited to try some fabulous Nordic skincare! So, why is there so much love for Nordic skincare? Let me explain. Nordic skincare is truly inspired by nature and often contains locally sourced ingredients you cannot find elsewhere – think extracts from marine algae, nourishing tree sap,…
Welcome, lover of empties. And thanks for taking a look at my November 2021 natural beauty empties! In November, I used far fewer skincare products than usual since we’ve been settling into life with little Lydia. Caring for a newborn is a full time job, but I’ve luckily found a little time for skincare and makeup. This month you’ll find a calming facial oil, hydrating serum, chakra balancing salt soap, and more. The box is practically empty compared with previous months! Shall we take a look? November 2021 natural beauty empties Native Essentials Azur Calming Light Oil I used this gorgeous calming oil for a month or so towards the end of my pregnancy with Lydia. On the morning of my labour, I was so happy to use Azur and appreciate it to its fullest. It’s so calming and soothing, with nourishing oils of cacay, plum, argan, and watermelon. The…
Hello, my dear empties lover! Welcome to my October 2021 natural beauty empties! This is the first post I’ve made since our daughter, Lydia Evelyn, arrived. My kids helped me with the photography this month, and they’ve had lots of fun building “pumpkin patches” indoors while I feed the baby. There may be less time to enjoy skincare in the time immediately after welcoming a new baby, but the emphasis is very much on a basic skincare routine that’s fast, simple, yet comforting. So this month, you’ll find a creamy and gentle facial wash, the dry body oil I enjoyed in the last few days of pregnancy, and a refreshing lemon deodorant. My kids used up a gorgeous natural baby oil. Enjoy my October empties! October 2021 natural beauty empties HoliFrog Tashmoo Water Lily Nourishing Milky Wash It’s hard to pick a favourite empty this month, but cleansing is my…
Welcome back, skincare lover! Today I’m so excited to share with you my thoughts on the Norfolk based skincare brand Nudge Boutique! I’ve been a long time admirer of this hand-crafted vegan skincare since first encountering the brand over on Instagram. Founded by mother and grandmother Jo, Nudge Boutique brings us beautiful formulations that use plant-power to “nudge back” the gloss and glow, and nudge us into making great choices for the environment. Jo’s skincare formulating journey shows a true love for plant ingredients and a passion for promoting women’s skin health and well being. I [also] felt an increased sense of well being from using nature’s ingredients, and at that time, I never knew how important a role this would play in my life. Recognising that skin and haircare needs change as we move into our forties and beyond, Nudge products help us transition our routine into one of balance and hydration. One…
Welcome back, my lovely friend! Today’s share is one very close to my heart – it’s the beautiful plant-based fragrance especially for mothers – it’s Nurture by Abel Odor! I’m so excited to share it with you, because this 100% natural fragrance makes the perfect choice for all mothers, and especially expecting ladies and mothers of young babies and children. Soft, cocooning, grounding, nurturing ~ like a hug from my own mum and the thoughts of the love between me and my little one. As a pregnant lady (38 weeks and counting!), the last thing I want is a heavy fragrance. This is also true while breastfeeding. Nurture is everything I could want from a fragrance. It’s light, yet it has longevity. Nurture is a fragrance that sits very comfortably without overloading my senses or overpowering my ability to take in other scents in my environment – such as my…
Hello again, empties lover! And welcome to my September 2021 natural beauty empties! It’s been an interesting month where I tried to minimise trying too many new products and blogging about them, but failed! Sometimes it’s hard to slow down with the things I love! Our darling new baby is due in just 2 weeks, so I’m understandably wanting to wind things down. But on the other hand, Cara started at playgroup so I have a little extra time before bubs comes earthside. I have a modest amount of empties for you this month. I’ve been masking most nights through September to try and carve some relaxation time, plus use up some of my huge mask stash. So, in this month’s empties you’ll find a sumptuous honey mask, refreshing floral mist, anti-ageing facial oil, and more. My kids used up a creamy body lotion and body wash. Shall we take…
Welcome back, skincare lover! Today’s post is all about a pregnancy skincare discovery I’m super excited to share – it’s Natalia pregnancy skincare! Now, at the beginning of September, I’m almost eight months pregnant – woohoo! And, as all mamas can attest, the third trimester of pregnancy is a seriously tiring time. Yet, it’s also extremely exciting! Everything feels a bit more real – and with labour looming and pregnancy niggles amplified, it’s nice to find products that can help ease those pregnancy discomforts and prepare me for labour. I first came across Natalia when I was pregnant with Cara in 2018. I bought their lovely labour massage oil intending to use it at hospital. Helping you connect positively with your changing body through positive touch, whilst caring for and nourishing your skin, and at the same time supporting you physically and emotionally with uplifting aromatherapy. Unfortunately, everything went so…
