“3 Sleep Hygiene Ideas That Could Reenergise Your Nighttime Routine” is a collaborative post.

Sleep hygiene is quite underrated, even in 2025 when we know the power of a good sleep routine. Many people don’t know the ins and outs of getting a good night’s sleep, and many of us struggle because our sleep hygiene isn’t as scrubbed up as it should be.

So let’s fix that. We’ve written before about the best, most natural ways to get some better sleep, but there’s more we can say about the issue.

Indeed, if you want to reenergise your nighttime routine, here are three more ideas for improving your sleep hygiene in a way that supports your specific needs.

Promote Natural Nighttime Sounds

A lot of sleep hygiene advice recommends keeping your bedroom as quiet as possible at night, but that’s not a great tip for everyone.

Indeed, if you struggle to sleep in quiet rooms, the silence is going to unnerve you more than a TV show playing in the background! But we do need a bit of peace here, so promote natural nighttime sounds instead.

These are the kinds of sounds that come with the nightscape, so nothing you wouldn’t normally hear once the lights go out and you tuck yourself into bed.

For example, a light bit of traffic passing on a nearby road, or the sounds of an owl hooting in the distance. If you like your white noise, these are the sounds to mix together and have playing!

Remove Items That Remind You of Alert Activities

Your phone is one thing, but anything you use during the day in activities that require you to be awake and at your best shouldn’t be in the bedroom with you either.

Your work laptop, any workout equipment you like to use, and even just children’s toys that have been mistakenly left on your floor.

Take them out of the room when you’re heading in there to sleep; you really don’t want to let them distract you. And yes, even if you’re not actively using them when you’re in bed, the fact that they’re in the same space is going to have a subconscious effect.

Try Sleeping Grounded

Being grounded means being connected to the earth and its natural energies. Soak these up while you’re sleeping and you might just find yourself quite literally reenergised in the morning!

You can do so with a few Grounding Products like a bed cover you can lie on, or a mat to pop under next to the bed that you can stand on when getting up.

Add items like these to your sleep routine for the next month or so and see if they do anything to make you feel more bright and alert. Combine them with the sleep hygiene techniques above and you’ll get an even bigger boost from a simple bit of grounding as well!

If your nighttime routine doesn’t quite get the energy back into you in the morning, these sleep hygiene ideas could just make up the deficit for you.
