This month I chose some lovely late summer beauty from online natural beauty stores. I’m so pleased with myself for sticking to sustainable skincare and makeup through July and August. This is me going forwards!

And my August picks really reflect the season. I’ve got a gorgeous warm refillable “Chamomile” eyeshadow palette from Ere Perez to take me into autumn, sumptuous EarthKind shampoo bar, affordable liquid lipstick from Benecos, and – I finally did it – I bought a lip balm with SPF from Hurraw to add to my huge stash of lip balms. Got to catch them all!

Enjoy my August natural beauty picks!

Ere Perez Chamomile Eyeshadow Palette in Lovely
This gorgeous warm palette has been on my wishlist for a while. I’m not very confident with makeup so skincare usually trumps any makeup items. But who could resist this?
Ere Perez describe their palette as 6 neutral, easy to wear shades. I love that the eyeshadows contain soothing chamomile, which may help to reduce inflammation of the delicate skin of the eye area.
This palette contains 3 matte base shades and 3 shimmer shades, so you get to mix it up a bit with the finish. And the little pans snap out so you can easily replace them with new ones, making this eyeshadow a great eco choice!
I think these neutral, complimentary colours suit almost everybody, and it’s for good reason that these palettes are amongst the internet’s best selling makeup items.
My Eco Tools work great to help me apply this eyeshadow, but you can use Ere Perez’s own line of brushes and tools, which look really good. This eyeshadow is really easy to apply, and long lasting. It doesn’t crease on my lids and I love the warmth this palette brings to my eyes. It’s so summery and beautiful.
At £29 the Ere Perez Chamomile Eyeshadow Palette in Lovely is a great investment in my makeup collection!

EarthKind Bergamot & Sage Shampoo Bar for Dry & Coloured Hair
What can I say about this cute little shampoo bar? I absolutely love it! It’s one of the best I’ve tried for my hair type (fine, dry, coloured). Each bar is good for 20 washes, vegan, and sulphate free.
Just hold the bar under water for a couple of seconds then smooth it over hair for the most wonderful lather. I can’t believe how well this shampoo bar lathers! The fragrance is mild and delicate, but doesn’t really last long on the hair after washing.
My hair is so wonderfully clean and soft after using EarthKind Bergamot & Sage Shampoo Bar for Dry & Coloured Hair.
The results are absolutely as good as liquid shampoo! Definitely a new favourite!

Benecos Natural Matte Liquid Lipstick in Rosewood Romance
When this matte liquid lipstick arrived, its shade looked not a bit like its picture on LoveLula! Isn’t this always the case? I was looking for a soft dusty pink, but this is actually a mighty strong brick red!
But despite this, I’m still really happy with my choice. Benecos describe their Natural Matte Lipstick as “a bold matte lipstick with a lightweight, velvety texture and a non-drying formula enriched with castor oil to nourish and hydrate the lips.”
The great thing about these liquid lipsticks is that you can use them on their own for bold statement colour, or you can apply them over lip balm for a softer, glossier finish.
It’s easy to apply the lipstick with its own doe foot applicator. The colour is strong and well pigmented. The lipstick takes a few moments to dry, and the finish is matte and slightly tacky, which I like because it feels a bit more moisturising.
After applying in the morning, I need to apply again after lunch to even out the colour. I also sometimes notice the lipstick clumping in little blobs on my lip, this is easy to wipe away and doesn’t bother me.
All in all, I’d probably try more shades of Benecos Natural Matte Lipstick because it’s such good value for money and although not perfect, I like the results.

Hurraw Sun Protection Balm SPF15
This choice feels like the final step in my arsenal against sun damage! The is the first time I’ve owned an SPF lip balm – and I’m really impressed with it!
Hurraw promise that their Sun Lip Balm will give your lips the extra protection they need. It uses non-nano zinc oxide (the de facto natural sun block) to keep rays out. It also contains backup support from cold pressed oils to heal and protect, including red raspberry seed oil, sea buckthorn oil, and pomegranate seed oil.
I love the oval shape of this lip balm, it’s quite innovative. It has the most beautiful summery aroma of tangerine, chamomile, and vanilla.
The lip balm glides on silky smooth and leaves a slight white cast, especially if applied too thickly (only 1 to 2 swipes are needed). And it’s actually been formulated thicker than Hurraw’s other balms so that it stays put! I swipe often to keep my protection up.
So happy with this one, and highly recommend it!

The lip balm sounds interesting, I hate when they have the sunscreen taste but it seems this doesn’t
