Dr. Lipp Superfood Tints are a fantastic addition to your makeup or skincare collection. But there’s a few things you need to know before investing in them. So in this post, you’ll find my honest Dr. Lipp Superfood Tints review.

These fabulous tints are naturally pigmented lip balms in a squeezable tube in 3 gorgeous shades. They’re the lip balm you’ll be carrying in your pocket all year round!

Superfood Tints are based on the same formula as the cult classic Dr. Lipp Nipple Balm. And if you haven’t yet tried this single-ingredient multitasking wonder, you’re in for a treat. Because everybody from breastfeeding mamas to supermodels swear by it – and for good reason. This beauty moisturises and soothes troubled skin. It heals, protects, and does wonders for delicate, dry and tender skin.

So what’s inside Superfood Tints?

The star ingredient is lanolin! Sorry vegans, but this 100% natural ingredient derived from sheep wool is the real deal when it comes to locking in moisture, sealing out the elements, and staying put for some hours!

Ingredients

Medical Grade Lanolin, Corn Starch, Elderberry, Sweet Potato, Red Radish, Lanolin Oil.

What do I love about Superfood Tints?

  • Gorgeous tints: Superfood Tints are bright and colourful but at the same time moisturising and glossy.
  • Delicate pigment: buildable pigment for delicately flushed lips and cheeks.
  • Skincare double-up: not only do you get the moisturising and protective benefits of lanolin, you get skin-boosting antioxidants, too.
  • Versatile: you can use them on your lips, cheeks, or eyelids. You could even use a little to tame your eyebrows or flyaway hairs, if you had nothing else.
  • Easy to use: the tube comes with a doe foot applicator that gives precise application. Use some clear lip liner to stop any colour bleeding outside of the lip line.
  • 5 all-natural ingredients: no plastic and no junk.
  • Long lasting: you get a great longevity with these lip balms that you don’t always get with others.
  • Forward-thinking packaging: the bio-plastic tubes are fun, super convenient, easy to use, and recyclable.

Are there any downsides to Superfood Tints?

  • Not vegan: it’s a deal-breaker for vegans. But everybody else gets the wonderful benefits of lanolin and this product is 100% natural.
  • Lanolin aroma: the tints have a slight aroma of lanolin, and some of the tints have a slightly unexpected vegetable flavour. I can’t say I dislike it, but it’s there. This said, it wouldn’t stop me from buying it again.
  • Stickiness: I wouldn’t use Superfood Tints on my cheeks if I had to go outside. It’s just too sticky and my hair clings to my cheeks. If you’re indoors, or have all your hair tied back – go for it!

Each Superfood Tint is based around a different brightly coloured superfood ingredient.

Swatches

So let’s take a look at the different tints. Here are the swatches (left to right): Elderberry, Sweet Potato, Red Radish:

Superfood Red Radish Tint

First up in my Dr. Lipp Superfood Tints review, let’s look at Superfood Red Radish. This tint is a true red. For a lip tint, it’s quite sassy and bright. Red Radish is definitely my favourite of the three!

Here it is on my lips:

Wearing Superfood Red Radish Tint

The mild vegetable flavour is the most noticeable in Red Radish. But it’s okay, we love radishes, right?

Here it is on my cheeks and eyelids. The minute I walked outside the wind blew my hair onto my cheeks where it stayed. I think perhaps the pigmentation is a little too subtle used here, but I absolutely LOVE it on my lips:

Superfood Sweet Potato Tint

Superfood Sweet Potato Tint is a hot pink hue derived from sweet potato. 🍠 However, on the lips it appears as a subtle pink.

Even though my lips are naturally quite darkly pigmented, the lovely colour of this feminine hue shows through.

Superfood Elderberry Tint

A delicious plum red, I’m going to be reaching for Superfood Elderberry Tint all autumn! It’s a gorgeous dark plummy red, but it’s not too heavy.

Wearing Superfood Elderberry Tint

Elderberry Tint is probably closest to my natural lip colour. I can’t get enough!
