In this post read my Weleda Skin Food review. This cult beauty product has well-deserved iconic status amongst beauty editors, bloggers, and makeup artists. Around the world, one tube of Skin Food sells every 23 seconds, making it Weleda’s bestselling natural beauty product. Disclosure: this post contains references to products I’ve chosen with my credits as a LoveLula Accredited Blogger. My views are honest and my own. Since 1926, Weleda Skin Food has brought relief and comfort to those with dry skin, and beautified celebrities such as Victoria Beckham, Julia Roberts, and Adele. I’ve been a huge Weleda fan since my early 20s, but it took me a while to try Skin Food. I’m so glad I did. Now, I always have a big tube in my bathroom. There’s a travel size tube in my nappy bag, and one in my car – I like to have some pretty much everywhere.…
Becoming an official Weleda Cleaner Beauty Ambassador was a really proud moment for me, since I’ve long sung the brand’s praises. As part of my role, I was delighted to be offered the chance to try Weleda Evening Primrose Age Revitalising Concentrate. Disclosure: PR gifted product. My views are honest and my own. The serum has been on my radar for some time. I love oil-free serums, especially in my nighttime skincare routine. It’s part of the Weleda Evening Primrose range for mature skin, based on Weleda’s ‘Lead Plant Philosophy’- a range of super-nutritional regimes to support skin at different life stages. Weleda describe the serum as a highly-effective skin-firming treatment to revitalise mature skin. Weleda note that as we age, our skin loses its elasticity and bounce. The serum aims to counteract this by energising cell renewal, strengthening the skin, and boosting its radiance. This fragrant serum is perfect for…
This is my first post after the birth of my darling Cara Grace. In it, I’d love to share with you some sumptuous basics I’ve been using from the fabulous Botanicals skincare range. Disclosure: review of PR gifted samples. My views are honest and my own. I was over the moon to be asked to try some products from the Botanicals range, and selected some lovely skincare basics to suit my skin type. This was my first time using Botanicals skincare – I’d noticed the brand popping up on LoveLula with other bloggers singing the brand’s praises. The brand aims: to provide a range of personal care products which are as close to nature as possible. Those that harness the pure power of plants. What I really love about Botanicals products is that all the products are handmade in Britain, are Soil Association certified organic, and suitable for vegans. The…
Weleda Pomegranate Deodorant is a wonderfully refreshing and effective natural deodorant that is free from aluminium salts and won’t clog pores. I love it so much that it’s appeared twice in my empties posts in the last year! Disclosure: I chose Weleda Pomegranate Deodorant with my credits as a LoveLula Accredited Blogger. My views are honest and my own. My favourite natural deodorant is Elsa’s Organics Deodorant, but this is my very close second favourite. I love it for different reasons – it has qualities that Elsa’s doesn’t. Even though Elsa’s is effective, I can’t wear it after shaving, as it irritates my skin. This is where Weleda Pomegranate Deodorant really shines – I can wear it right after shaving without any discomfort at all. As well as being no-stain, easy to apply, and fast to dry, it smells absolutely gorgeous. Perfect for autumn and winter. Weleda describes the fragrance as…
Are you pregnant and suffering with uncomfortable swollen feet, or feet that cramp painfully during the night? If so, then I really hope my DIY pregnancy foot scrub can help you as much as it’s helped me! Disclosure: this post contains references to PR gifted products. My views are honest and my own. My scrub contains beneficial ingredients known to help with swollen and cramping feet. Like other foot scrubs, it will help keep your feet lovely and soft. I’m 39 weeks pregnant now, so my feet love this gorgeous scrub. I adapted it from a post by the lovely Wellness Mama, specifically with pregnancy feet in mind. How can a pregnancy foot scrub help? First, epsom salts slough off dead skin and help with cramping by replenishing magnesium levels. Tamanu oil aids drainage and circulation. To soften rough skin, add calendula, olive, or almond oil – I prefer calendula for its ability to soften…
I was so pleased to be asked to contribute a favourite natural beauty brand and product for Titanic Spa to be included in their post, ethical beauty brands that bloggers love. It was so hard to choose just one brand, since there are so many I love! But I chose the brand I feel best fits with Titanic Spa and their readers. Titanic Spa is the UK’s first eco-spa, in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. The spa offers spa days, overnight breaks, and a range of lovely treatments including facials, massage, alternative therapy, scrubs, hand and foot treatments, and two very interesting treatments to me – organic treatments and pregnancy treatments. The brand I chose for Titanic Spa is The Rose Tree. This gorgeous British brand is pure luxury, and their products are an absolute delight to use. Many of their ingredients are organic and fair trade. The Rose Tree founder, Olga Rumble, is…
Searching for new rose floral waters lead me to discover French organic natural beauty brand Laboratoire du Haut-Segala. The brand was new to me, and I have to say I hadn’t heard the brand mentioned in the LoveLula Natural Beauty Facebook group. Reading their credentials, I became interested in their products. Let me tell you why. Disclosure: I was gifted Laboratoire du Haut-Segala products by Eco Beauty Shop. My views are honest and my own. The brand has a total passion for plants and aims to bring the benefits of plants to us through their Ecocert certified organic products. The range centres on multi-use floral waters, oils, and body butters. I love that Laboratoire du Haut-Segala aims to help me find products that improve my health and wellbeing, without harming the environment. As you would expect, the products are high quality. Virgin cold-pressed plant oils from specially selected seeds, flowers,…
This post is all about the ritual of oil-free night care – why you might want to try going oil-free at night, the benefits to your skin, how to do it, and my pick of wonderful oil-free night serums. By oil-free I mean serums containing no or very low amounts of oil. No base or carrier oils, just small amounts of beneficial essential oils. It’s a little unusual as a beauty blogger to avoid all the lovely oil-based night creams and serums on offer. But it’s something I’ve done for about 10 years, and I feel my skin benefits. Maybe it’s for you, too? It was Dr. Hauschka that inspired me to switch to oil-free skincare at night. Just read this quote from Annette Greco, Head of Galenic Development at Dr. Hauschka, on nighttime with Dr. Hauschka skincare. During the day, your skin can use the protection and nourishment offered by…
In this post, I review Weleda Gentle Cleansing Foam. I’m a big fan of cleansing foams. If I’ve been wearing makeup or SPF, I use a cleansing foam as the second step in a double cleanse. I also use a cleansing foam in my morning shower to refresh my skin. As a huge Weleda fan, my excitement when they released this cleansing foam was very real! I immediately bought some from my Weleda Wellbeing Advisor. My bottle is all used up now, so I gave it a thorough testing over several months. Ideal for normal and combination skin, and suitable for vegans, Weleda promises a gentle, non-drying deep cleanse that refreshes the skin while harnessing valuable plant extracts. The aim is to gently remove daily dirt, excess oil, and make-up in the kindest, most effective way. Key botanicals include organic witch hazel and marshmallow along with a sprightly blend of essential…
In this post, I’m sharing my favourite Mádara cleansers. It goes without saying that cleansing is one of the most important steps of any skincare routine. Most people have figured out their favourite way to cleanse, whether it be with oil, balm, gel, or a creamy or milky cleanser. Personally, I like thick creamy cleansers, and foaming or gel cleansers. Although it’s not for everybody, I double cleanse after wearing makeup. I like the way my skin feels perfectly clean afterwards. Double cleansing keeps my hormonal outbreaks to a minimum, and my combination skin happy. I have tried both the oil and balm cleansing methods, but found it a little harder to remove my makeup – although I know others swear by it. As part of the LoveLula blogger scheme, I’m always on the lookout for new creamy cleansers to remove my makeup, and foaming or gel cleansers to complete my…
