In this post, I share my September 2018 natural beauty empties! Not reviewing the LoveLula box this month has seen quite a dramatic decrease in the number of samples I’ve used. Since I’m a few weeks into my third trimester, I thought it would be a good time to share my third trimester essentials and a 7 month pregnancy update. The third trimester brings a whole new set of needs, doesn’t it? For me, it’s all about preparation. Things are about to get real! There’s the practical preparation, like washing my baby’s clothes and planning who will care for Jonah. But there’s also the physical and emotional preparation for labour, birth, and life with a newborn! During my third trimester with Jonah, I followed a HypnoBirthing course with my hospital. This pregnancy, I’ve used the same HypnoBirthing practise since the start of my third trimester. I have a nice daily routine of listening to affirmations, breathing practise, guided relaxation, and drinking raspberry leaf tea. Soon, I’ll be doing perineal massage and eating dates. Third trimester essentials checklist Emotionally, I’ve been up and…
In this post, I review Weleda Gentle Cleansing Foam. I’m a big fan of cleansing foams. If I’ve been wearing makeup or SPF, I use a cleansing foam as the second step in a double cleanse. I also use a cleansing foam in my morning shower to refresh my skin. As a huge Weleda fan, my excitement when they released this cleansing foam was very real! I immediately bought some from my Weleda Wellbeing Advisor. My bottle is all used up now, so I gave it a thorough testing over several months. Ideal for normal and combination skin, and suitable for vegans, Weleda promises a gentle, non-drying deep cleanse that refreshes the skin while harnessing valuable plant extracts. The aim is to gently remove daily dirt, excess oil, and make-up in the kindest, most effective way. Key botanicals include organic witch hazel and marshmallow along with a sprightly blend of essential…

Back in December I posted about us trying for a second baby, and I shared my natural fertility essentials. Well, I am overjoyed to announce we’re pregnant! I’m currently 25 weeks, and feeling very big and hot! And I can’t wait to share my second trimester essentials with you! Pregnancy is a time when many women look to clean up their beauty routine. Now you’re thinking about the precious little one growing inside, as well as yourself. But in the second trimester, you can relax a little as the chances of loss are lower and your baby’s organs and limbs are formed. That’s one less thing to worry about. And for me, that means introducing essential oils back into my routine. The second trimester of pregnancy is also a time when you need to take special care of yourself and your skin. Your belly and boobs are growing, your skin…

Let’s talk about a subject very close to my heart – how to nourish your child through cleaner beauty. As parents, we naturally want the best for our children, and there are so many choices to make. From food, clothing, toys, education, whether or not to vaccinate – the list is endless and often overwhelming, especially for first time parents. I feel the choices we make about what skincare products to use, and how we use them, are important. We can nourish our children through our skincare choices, and reduce the chemical burden we place on them. But wait, I hear you say – I don’t want more choices! As a busy parent, there’s no time to make lots of complicated or overwhelming ingredient checks. I hear you, honestly. Since I fell pregnant with Jonah in 2015, I’ve spent plenty of time scrutinising ingredients to ensure nothing harmful works its…

Are you thinking about cleaning up your beauty routine? You’re not alone! Almost 50 percent of consumers buy natural beauty products, and 8 percent want to, according to Yes To (source). If you’re in the 8 percent, or still unsure whether cleaner beauty is for you, I’d love to help you. By sharing my definition of cleaner beauty, I hope I can help you explore what cleaner beauty might mean to you. I’ll be looking at the reasons why you would want to clean up your beauty routine in the first place. Then, I’ll be sharing my favourite clean beauty brands who I completely trust, and who take the guesswork out of buying natural beauty products. I may be preaching to the converted, but if not then I really hope I can inspire you to spring clean your beauty shelves, especially if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or have children. What is cleaner…
How are we nearly into May already? Another month of keeping track of the natural beauty and health products we use each month. I hope you enjoy reading my April 2018 skincare & beauty empties. April has been so exciting for me and my blog! I ran my first giveaway, for fertility supplements, and I wrote my first proper makeup review where I looked at healthier alternatives to MAC Vegas Volt Lipstick. This month has been all about trying new products, especially cleansers, shampoos, and conditioners. It irks me I’ve never been able to find the perfect shampoo and conditioner, so I’ve been making a big effort to try new products. Read on to find out how I got on. It’s a long one, but I hope you find it helpful. Disclosure: I was gifted The Rose Tree Intensive Balm by The Rose Tree, and Storksak Baby Wash & Shampoo…
