November, wow! This month has been all about my darling baby Cara Grace who was born this month. There are only 4 items in my empties this month, for obvious reasons. With a 2 week old baby plus a toddler to care for, my routine has been stripped right down to the very basics. Natural beauty brand Weleda appears in my empties every month without fail, and this month I used another small tube of Weleda Skin Food. I also used up eye gel, shampoo, and maternity pads. Where possible I’ve recycled my packaging. Enjoy my November 2018 natural beauty empties! Weleda Pomegranate Deodorant is a wonderfully refreshing and effective natural deodorant that is free from aluminium salts and won’t clog pores. I love it so much that it’s appeared twice in my empties posts in the last year! Disclosure: I chose Weleda Pomegranate Deodorant with my credits as a LoveLula Accredited Blogger. My views are honest and my own. My favourite natural deodorant is Elsa’s Organics Deodorant, but this is my very close second favourite. I love it for different reasons – it has qualities that Elsa’s doesn’t. Even though Elsa’s is effective, I can’t wear it after shaving, as it irritates my skin. This is where Weleda Pomegranate Deodorant really shines – I can wear it right after shaving without any discomfort at all. As well as being no-stain, easy to apply, and fast to dry, it smells absolutely gorgeous. Perfect for autumn and winter. Weleda describes the fragrance as…

October, how excited I am to see the end of you! This is a particularly poignant empties post for me, as it will be the last before our new baby is born. Expect to find some quite everyday items this month, like natural deodorant, cleansing milk, and oil-free night serum, along with Jonah’s empties – bubble bath, toothpaste, and nappy cream. Naturally, I’ve recycled and reused my packaging. I hope you like my October 2018 natural beauty empties! My views are honest and my own. Weleda Pomegranate Deodorant I keep meaning to review Weleda Pomegranate Deodorant – twice it’s appeared in my empties before I’ve even had chance to review it. This is a really effective and refreshing deodorant. It smells gorgeous, dries quickly, and…

Welcome back, my friend! Wondering what’s essential in the postpartum period? Take the guesswork out of your post-pregnancy planning – here are the postpartum essentials you’ll want to stash at home and pack in your hospital bag in the UK. As an experienced mum of four children, I love sharing what worked for me postnatally. I took so much needless stuff to hospital with my first child – I wish I knew then, what I know now! The postpartum period is such a beautiful and special time. But it can be overwhelming, too – especially as a first time mum. After all, not only have you just given birth – whether vaginally or via c-section, you’re experiencing huge physical changes too. A drop in hormones often leads to mood swings – baby blues are a real thing! And not to mention – you now have a brand new little one…

Looking for the most natural beauty and skincare while you’re expecting? Welcome back my friend! In this post, I’m sharing the labour essentials that have got me through four unmedicated Hypnobirth labours. I first shared this post while expecting my second baby in 2018. We’ve welcomed two more babies since then, so I’ve had plenty of trial and error finding out what products are worth your money, and which are not. These are the items you’ll use to make your Hypnobirth labour easier and more comfortable! A useful tip: I take my labour essentials with me separately so I can access everything easily without it getting mixed into my other postpartum and hospital bag items. Having these items in an easy to access pack makes me feel so well-prepared in my final weeks. I hope you enjoy reading about them! Labour essentials checklist Here’s the list of essentials: Birth preferences and notes Undoubtedly the most important part of your labour essentials!…

In this post, I share my September 2018 natural beauty empties! Not reviewing the LoveLula box this month has seen quite a dramatic decrease in the number of samples I’ve used. Expect to find fragrant rose waters, delicious pregnancy teas, unscented body moisturiser, foaming cleanser, day cream, summery body lotion, and more! As always, I reuse and recycle my packaging. Since I’m a few weeks into my third trimester, I thought it would be a good time to share my third trimester essentials and a 7 month pregnancy update. The third trimester brings a whole new set of needs, doesn’t it? For me, it’s all about preparation. Things are about to get real! There’s the practical preparation, like washing my baby’s clothes and planning who will care for Jonah. But there’s also the physical and emotional preparation for labour, birth, and life with a newborn! During my third trimester with Jonah, I followed a HypnoBirthing course with my hospital. This pregnancy, I’ve used the same HypnoBirthing practise since the start of my third trimester. I have a nice daily routine of listening to affirmations, breathing practise, guided relaxation, and drinking raspberry leaf tea. Soon, I’ll be doing perineal massage and eating dates. Third trimester essentials checklist Emotionally, I’ve been up and…

In this post, I review Weleda Gentle Cleansing Foam. I’m a big fan of cleansing foams. If I’ve been wearing makeup or SPF, I use a cleansing foam as the second step in a double cleanse. I also use a cleansing foam in my morning shower to refresh my skin. As a huge Weleda fan, my excitement when they released this cleansing foam was very real! I immediately bought some from my Weleda Wellbeing Advisor. My bottle is all used up now, so I gave it a thorough testing over several months. Ideal for normal and combination skin, and suitable for vegans, Weleda promises a gentle, non-drying deep cleanse that refreshes the skin while harnessing valuable plant extracts. The aim is to gently remove daily dirt, excess oil, and make-up in the kindest, most effective way. Key botanicals include organic witch hazel and marshmallow along with a sprightly blend of essential…

You’re pregnant – this is amazing time full of change. But can you still use your favourite perfume? And what if you want to make a switch to cleaner and more natural perfumes? If you need help finding natural perfume for pregnancy, here are my top picks, plus tips for choosing your own natural perfumes in pregnancy. Contents: Can I use perfume now I’m pregnant? Mainstream perfumes are generally considered safe during pregnancy, but there are still some factors to bear in mind. Perfume ingredients are a trade secret, so it’s hard to pin down exactly what’s in your perfume. Perfumes can contain phthalates, known to disrupt the reproductive system – especially in baby boys. Other ingredients include hormone disrupting octinoxate, potentially cancerous BHT and benzophenone. These ingredients are considered safe when used at the recommended levels in fragrances, however some people prefer to avoid such ingredients when pregnant. Pregnancy symptoms are…
