As the nights start to draw in, I’m starting to think about a healthy scented candle. Home fragrancing is possible in a myriad of ways, but nothing beats a candle for both ambience and fragrance. I absolutely adore candles. I unashamedly love browsing candle displays in shops. Who can resist having a sniff of candles with such enticing names, like “fluffy towels”, “bourbon wood barrels”, and “aloe water”, just to see if they smell as good as they sound? Me and candles, we have a long history together. I enjoyed my first visit to a candle factory aged 7 years old, where I dipped my first candle at Cheshire Workshops. Dabbling in candle making at home for the last decade or so, I started by buying all the kit – paraffin wax pellets, stearic acid, artificial fragrance, and colouring. Lavera Sensitive Toothpaste is one of my favourite natural toothpastes. Lavera say that it offers protection from tooth decay, naturally whitens teeth, and gives clean, mint-fresh breath. The toothpaste uses sea salt to clean the teeth thoroughly, yet gently, without harming dentine. There are several toothpastes in the Lavera Basis Sensitiv range – Classic, Organic Mint, and Kid’s varieties. This one is for those with sensitive teeth. As with other Lavera products, it’s Natrue certified. This is not a sensitive toothpaste that offers active protection from sensitivity, like a conventional sensitive toothpaste. These toothpastes contain an active ingredient, potassium nitrite, to seal holes in the dentine. Lavera Basis Sensitiv Toothpaste simply isn’t as abrasive as other natural toothpastes. Let’s have a look at the ingredients. Lavera Basis Sensitiv Sensitive Toothpaste ingredients Aqua, Sorbitol, Silica, Xylitol, Glycerin, Maris Sal, Betaine, CI 77891, Xanthan Gum, Disodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Sodium Cocoyl Glutamate, Algin, Chamomilla Recutita Flower…

In this review, Jonah tries out Green People Children Spearmint and Aloe Toothpaste. We’re huge fans of Green People and use their products daily. I completely trust them with my own and my family’s skin and dental care. Jonah’s teeth came through on Christmas day 2016 when he was just over 6 months old. As with most babies, it was the bottom two at the front to come through first. We started brushing Jonah’s teeth everyday since he cut his first tooth. Although I use fluoride toothpaste on myself, I don’t want to use fluoride toothpaste on Jonah. So I chose his toothpaste very carefully. On one hand, I consider fluoride a beneficial ingredient to help with tooth decay. On the other hand, Jonah is too young to know to spit his toothpaste. The EWG recommendation is to avoid fluoride on children under 2 years old. Fluoride is not the…
