Welcome back, my friend! Adults and children alike – winter brings out the worst in our skin. Whether it’s chapped lips, dry hands, or scaly skin on the face, arms, and legs. The reasons are simple – colder, drier air, and more time indoors in a heated environment. But with some tweaks to your routine and a switch of products, you absolutely can keep your family’s skin in good condition this winter. So without further ado, let’s look at winter skincare for your whole family! Protect hands with gloves this winter Let’s kick off this list by focusing on the grown ups! Parents’ hands work so hard. Whether it’s the constant hand washing, pushing the pushchair, or unavoidable daily exposure on the school run. Protect your hands and buy some good quality gloves. I use leather gloves for driving and pushing the pushchair as they grip so well and my…

I know how much you mamas love to make things with your milk. It has a beautiful silky texture that can be pumped like a regular lotion, absorbs beautifully, and gives your skin all the benefits of breast milk plus way more. First, a note to those who’ve tried to make breast milk lotion before and found that their breast milk lotion separated or split not long after making it. Why breast milk…

Welcome back, my dear! In today’s post, I’d like to share some of the best baby skincare products for 2023. We all want only the best for our baby’s skin – but with so much choice and conflicting advice about what to use, how do we pick only the best baby skincare products? And more, how can we choose brands we can rely on because they’re so well loved by parents? In this post, I’ll reveal all. But first, do babies even need a skin care routine? Why your baby needs a skin care routine Your baby absolutely needs a skin care routine. `Even if the routine is as simple as bathing and protecting their skin with a simple emollient, if they need one. And if you’re outside in the cold and windy weather, and especially in winter, your baby will definitely need a little more care. Why? Baby skin…

Welcome back my friend! The UK is currently experiencing a cold snap, with bitter freezing fog, snow flurries and sub zero temperatures making most of us feel like heading under our duvets! It goes without saying that you’ll be wondering how to protect your baby’s skin in winter. We all know our baby’s skin needs protection in winter, but what makes baby skin so sensitive? Well, baby skin is actually more permeable and prone to dryness than adult skin – so it needs more protection. Did you know that baby skin loses water faster than adult skin, too? Unfortunately for our little ones, their skin is more susceptible to damage from the environment, which can cause wider problems. A breakdown of the outermost layer of the skin can cause atopic dermatitis, leading to allergies. With all this in mind, your baby definitely needs her beautiful skin protecting this winter! And…

Welcome back, my friend! Today’s post is all about the cotton products I’ve been using from Organyc. These products are made with 100% certified organic cotton. They take care of delicate skin in so many ways – think beauty, feminine, maternity, and baby care. Organyc products are naturally absorbent, renewable, and sustainable. The brand promises a comfortable and breathable experience that’s reassuringly free from plastics, dyes, perfumes, pesticides, phthalates, super absorbent polymers, and wood pulp. While it is true that single use cotton products are not the most sustainable option to us, they make a great option when we’re short on time, travelling, or have a new baby and need simplicity and convenience. Lydia and I are having great fun trying out a selection of products from their range, including cotton wool balls, baby wipes, intimate wipes, beauty round pads, and cotton buds. Shall we learn more about them now?…

Welcome back, skincare lover! I’m so excited about today’s share! It’s the wonderful Tea & Tonic Gentle Solitude Face Oil! I was delighted to discover the UK wellness brand Tea & Tonic. This interesting company matches skincare and teas for your brightest skin and self. I’ll be honest with you. With upwards of 30 facial oils in my collection, and a house move looming, I’m trying to be sensible and rein in my face oils collection until after the move. Welcome back, my lovely! Today I’m delighted to share a cream that’s improving and soothing Lydia’s eczema. It’s the fabulous Zoe Bee Charcoal & Oat Moisturiser! Does your baby suffer with eczema? This condition is estimated to affect up to 20% of infants worldwide. I know I’m not alone in finding my baby’s eczema really distressing. Lydia’s eczema It started when Lydia was about 8 weeks old. When red patches first appeared on her face and thighs, I wasn’t worried. My other children had something similar at her age and it cleared on its own. However, Lydia’s eczema didn’t go away. It got worse, and nothing I did helped. In hindsight, my other children probably had cradle cap, not eczema. We live and learn! It was so sad to see her scratch herself in her sleep, and the itch-scratch cycle left her skin so much worse. Always keeping her nails…
