Hello again, my dear! And welcome to my April 2022 natural beauty empties. April sees a rainbow of empties from me! We’re in the final stages of buying a new house, and the moving fever is real! I’m trying to use up a lot of old products since the bathroom in our new house is actually smaller (and I’m trying not to worry about that too much). But, we’ll have a garden, so hooray for that! This month some of my empties highlights include hair gummies for longer, thicker hair, a luxurious facial serum, a nourishing yogi body oil, and more. Shall we learn more about these products? April 2022 natural beauty empties Hair Gain Hair Gummies The star product this month are these wonderful Hair Gain Gummies. My hair has grown so much since starting to use them in January. Take a look at my full review for all…
Hello beauty! And welcome to my May 2021 natural beauty empties! In my empties posts I share all the beauty products I used up in a month. And this month I have a fantastic collection of well rounded empties for you. In May, I used up a gorgeous Nordic balm cleanser with arctic bilberry, a silky foot balm with mint and pine, a gentle and hydrating CBD face cream – and much more. There’s also a makeup item, hair care products, and an item from my children. Would you like to learn more about them? Let’s do it! May 2021 natural beauty empties Flow Balm to Milk Facial Cleanser Flow Balm to Milk Cleanser is a gorgeous dual textured cleansing balm that’s yellow, thick, oily and satisfying. It starts as a thick gel to massage in to the face, shifting makeup and daily grime. On contact with water, the cleanser…
Hello again, my friend! Welcome to my January 2021 natural beauty empties. What to say about January? The lockdown, supporting my husband working from home, worrying about all our health – it takes its toll. But skincare, as usual, is a beautiful distraction and – we had snow! It was so good to frolic in the white stuff, have fun, and forget about lockdown, just for one day. This month, I used up a beautiful gel cleanser, all-in-one balm, ginseng face tonic, and more. My littles used up a gentle hydrating body lotion and a baby sleep rollerball. I hope you find my January empties helpful! January 2021 natural beauty empties D’Alchemy Purifying Facial Cleanser One of my favourite gel cleansers. It’s great during times of hormonal breakouts since it mildly exfoliates and contains soothing ingredients. I really love the softly foaming texture and the orange and vanilla scent. You…
Welcome back, beauty friend! And welcome to my April 2020 natural beauty empties. April was a great month for empties! I had chance to use up many more products because my husband is working from home and I have a little bit more time in the morning. Coronavirus lockdown – there are some benefits. Not only that, but I’ve been shopping my stash every week. This month I wanted to focus on using up my sample collection. The ultimate goal is to reduce the number of these little sachets coming in. Sample sachets are a terrible waste of packaging – there are better ways to get samples! So, future thinking applied. But a lot of my samples were running out of date, and I didn’t want to waste them. So I’ve been living like I’m on holiday, with lots of variety – it’s been fun! I also have lots of…
Ready to learn about my January 2019 natural beauty empties! It’s been a year since I started to document my natural beauty empties. I still get a real buzz from finishing a product and including it here. My empties posts are such a nice way to round up the everyday things we use as a family and highlight the stars of my routine. Since the birth of my daughter in November, I’ve had less time for using natural beauty products. But in January things have been a little easier, so I’ve been able to regularly use some of my favourite products again. Hooray for looking after myself! Expect to find luxury face oil, creamy shower wash, sweet smelling baby bath oil, natural hairspray, and a well-loved pink clay konjac sponge. I hope you find it helpful. Are you thinking about cleaning up your beauty routine? You’re not alone! Almost 50 percent of consumers buy natural beauty products, and 8 percent want to, according to Yes To (source). If you’re in the 8 percent, or still unsure whether cleaner beauty is for you, I’d love to help you. By sharing my definition of cleaner beauty, I hope I can help you explore what cleaner beauty might mean to you. I’ll be looking at the reasons why you would want to clean up your beauty routine in the first place. Then, I’ll be sharing my favourite clean beauty brands who I completely trust, and who take the guesswork out of buying natural beauty products. I may be preaching to the converted, but if not then I really hope I can inspire you to spring clean your beauty shelves, especially if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding, or have children. What is cleaner…
In this post, I’m talking about creating a gentle toddler sleep routine, and I’ll be looking at some of the best natural products to help your toddler sleep. A sleep routine has nothing to do with strict bedtimes and sleep training, but is a calming way to help your toddler to relax and pick up on the cues that bedtime is near. Jonah’s biggest sleep association is, of course, the boob. But we’ve found it helpful to introduce a routine that he recognises and has come to expect. For instance, bath, nappy, massage, story, breastfeed, then bedtime. Natural bath and bedtime products can be a huge part of such a routine. Bathing, massaging, and enjoying familiar fragrances together creates a lovely bond between parent and toddler, and the practise is very comforting and soothing. I’m talking about massage and foot oils, pillow mists, and bath products to help calm and relax…
Since writing this post, Mia & Dom have closed their skincare brand. We don’t use lots of skincare products on Jonah, but one thing we do seem to get through is bath product. I will be honest – we don’t bathe Jonah every day unless he absolutely needs it. I’m a big believer in letting him get mucky to build up his microbiome. And, taking baths too often can dehydrate delicate skin. Jonah does love a bath though, so I thought we’d try this gorgeous Mia & Dom Organic Baby Bath Oil. This is the first time I’ve tried Mia & Dom, so let me introduce them: Mia & Dom is a lovely British brand making organic handmade skin care products for mothers and babies. The range was created by a mama whose son suffers with eczema – the Dom of Mia & Dom. Disclosure: I chose this product using credits…
