Since writing this post, Mia & Dom have closed their skincare brand.
We don’t use lots of skincare products on Jonah, but one thing we do seem to get through is bath product. I will be honest – we don’t bathe Jonah every day unless he absolutely needs it. I’m a big believer in letting him get mucky to build up his microbiome. And, taking baths too often can dehydrate delicate skin. Jonah does love a bath though, so I thought we’d try this gorgeous Mia & Dom Organic Baby Bath Oil.
This is the first time I’ve tried Mia & Dom, so let me introduce them: Mia & Dom is a lovely British brand making organic handmade skin care products for mothers and babies. The range was created by a mama whose son suffers with eczema – the Dom of Mia & Dom.
Other Mia & Dom products include nipple balm, morning sickness balm, and a gorgeous collection of salves, serums, and remedies for mama and baby. I have to say, these products hit me right in the feels. I’d really like to try other products in the range.
The beautiful packaging looks perfect, and I love how the product comes with a dropper, so just the right amount can be added to the bath.
To use, add a few drops to the bath water and swish it around for a comforting soak that won’t dry skin out too much.
Since this product is unscented, we use it as a carrier oil for lavender and chamomile essential oils. Jonah seems to really love lavender in his bath, and I think he does sleep better after a bath including it.
Let’s take a look at the comfortingly short ingredients list:
Mia & Dom Organic Baby Bath Oil ingredients
An amazing moisturiser, sunflower oil is rich in antioxidants. It is high in vitamin E which can help improve skin’s appearance.
It can help with acne and spots, so is handy if your baby or toddler is suffering a breakout.
Treats rashes and breakouts, which makes it an ideal choice for babies and toddlers who may be suffering with teething or nappy rash.
Safflower oil can help lock moisture into the skin, keeping it soft and supple.
A brilliant moisturiser, and a great treatment for acne, rashes, and psoriasis and eczema.
Jojoba oil can help with breakouts, since it’s rich in iodine.
I rave about calendula oil often on my blog – and for good reason. It’s such an amazing product for babies, toddlers, and parents, too.
It’s anti-inflammatory and antibacterial, so can help with a range of inflammatory skincare complaints ranging from rashes to dry skin.
Should I buy Mia & Dom Organic Baby Bath Oil?
If you’re looking for a healthier alternative to mineral-based baby oils to use in the bath, then Mia & Dom Organic Baby Bath Oil is ideal.
Perhaps your baby or toddler is very sensitive to detergent-based bubble baths. Or maybe you find that their body wash is stripping too much moisture. In either case, this product is ideal. Its nourishing oils and healing calendula are a dream for delicate skin.
This product is clearly not a bubble bath. However, it will help replace the lost moisture caused by bathing in water.
Jonah’s skin is always baby soft and I do think this product is helping it stay that way!
