Posted on 29th April 20192nd December 2020by Helen Little

During April I’ve used up quite a lot of products – go me! The star product this month is a gorgeous balm that I’ve been using on my psoriasis, which is still covering my hands and arms and is something I’m just about managing. There’s also luscious lip balm, coconut baby wash and konjac sponge, […]

BEAUTIFUL QUINCE 🌿 It's been a beautiful spring BEAUTIFUL QUINCE 🌿 It's been a beautiful spring day today here in the North East. It wouldn't be spring without a blossom post 🌸 I love to see my feed filled with beautiful blossom! And quince has the most beautiful blooms at this time of year. And later in the year a lovely fruit that my mum uses to make jam. She's a top class mum! 💓 What's your favourite bloom at the moment? Hope you have a lovely evening!
HONESTLY BARE SKINCARE HAND BUTTER 🌿 How's your HONESTLY BARE SKINCARE HAND BUTTER 🌿 How's your Monday going? It's so exciting and heartwarming that the shops, hairdressers, etc are open again! Have you ventured out yet? Ad. Today I'm sharing my latest hand treat discovery! It's the beautiful Honestly Bare Skincare @honestly_bare_skincare Coca Hand Butter! Thanks so much Siobhan! This 100% natural butter is a treat for both the skin and the senses - especially for chocolate lovers! It really does smell like chocolate, thanks to its high concentration of delicious and nourishing cocoa butter. It's doing a brilliant job at soothing the eczema on my hands while satisfying my cravings for chocolate! What can I say? The kids still have Easter chocolate left and I'm trying my best to resist it! Water-free butters are a kind option for dry and sensitive skin. No water means no preservatives, taking pressure off skin and being more sustainable in general. There are no extra essential oils in this one, so it's super gentle. As you can see, the texture is beyond luscious. It's quite a soft butter and gently melts into the skin, and is best applied to damp skin to boost hydration. I only need a little, and it sinks in beautifully. My skin is left soft, comfortable and well moisturised. Siobhan founded Honestly Bare Skincare after becoming a mum and discovering her son also shared her uncomfortable skin conditions. She creates 100% natural and vegan skincare, all available through her link in bio @honestly_bare_skincare or Etsy Store etsy.com/uk/shop/HonestlyBareSkincare. Check it out to see the rest of the range! What's your favourite chocolate skincare discovery? Do you have a favourite butter or balm at the moment?
MINIMALIST SKINCARE 🌿 Are you struggling under MINIMALIST SKINCARE 🌿 Are you struggling under a sea of skincare products? I'm often overwhelmed by my collection. So the idea of streamlining my stash is very appealing. Skincare minimalism is gaining popularity, and for good reason. It champions sustainability and aims to simplify overcomplicated skincare routines. Sadly, as much as we all love our new products, the beauty industry is one of the least sustainable because its business model is one that constantly needs to push new products to market. Ana Green @anagoesgreen explains it perfectly when she says "the market is driven by constantly expanding what we think is essential." Source: https://formulabotanica.com/podcast-minimalist-skincare-skinimalism. One brand blazing the trail in minimalist skincare is Beauty Cleanse Skincare @beautycleanseskincare, founded by Saman Ali. I've always admired her commitment to minimalist skincare and sought to follow her example. So how can we practice skincare minimalism? Briefly: - Multipurpose skincare - Waterless skincare - Upcycled ingredients I recommend you check out Saman's profile @beautycleanseskincare and her website beautycleanseskincare.com to find out more. Beauty Beauty Cleanse Skincare offer 3 products, each is multiple use. - Mean Green Superfood Drops 8-in-1 Facial Serum-in-Oil. - Carrot Algae Marine Drops 4-in1 Facial Serum-in-Oil. - Cabbage, Cranberry, Hemp Cleansing Oil & Makeup Remover 3-in-1. Now, Saman wants to bring a multipurpose minimalist mask to market, but she needs our help. This 'Nearly Everything Minimalist Mask' is filled with antioxidant-rich superfood extracts, to feed the skin. And it can be used on other parts of the body, too. Can you help Saman to launch this product by contributing to her crowd funder? Visit @beautycleanseskincare and follow the link in bio to contribute. The rewards include samples, a face mask brush, an eco-friendly coconut smoothie bowl, and course being the first to receive the minimalist mask. You can also take 10% off any Beauty Cleanse Skincare product using the code HELEN10. Do you practice minimalist skincare? Let me know your thoughts!
ANTIPODES CULTURE PROBIOTIC NIGHT CREAM REVIEW 🌿 How are you my lovely? Did you have a good Easter holiday? We are way too full of chocolate, but the kids burned it off hunting for eggs! Ad: gifted. Today, over on my blog (link in bio) I'm sharing my review of the new @antipodesskincare Culture Probiotic Night Cream. Antipodes' latest product promises calmer, more hydrated, and healthier-looking skin by morning. And when I tried it for the first time, it was a joyful experience. I was enveloped in its beautiful pink colour, rosy smell, and juicy pillowy texture. But, there are some things I don't like about it. Head over to my blog to find out the good and the bad, plus my reviews of the two extra Antipodes products - Halo Brightening Facial Mask and Divine Facial Oil - that came in the Antipodes Culture Gift Set. JOHN MASTERS ORGANICS 🌿 Ad: gifted. Hello again JOHN MASTERS ORGANICS 🌿 Ad: gifted. Hello again, my beauty friends! How's your lockdown hair doing? My hair is bleached and long. I haven't been to the hairdresser since July, and I'm starting to get quite badly damaged ends. So I was happy dancing last month when I was so kindly gifted a range of haircare and skincare products by John Masters Organics @johnmastersorganicsuk. The brand creates salon-worthy, effective haircare and skincare products using only organic and natural ingredients. Let's talk about the haircare. I was so happy to try JMOs hydrating shampoo for dry hair, soothing shampoo for problem scalps, conditioners - both leave-in and wash off, plus the game-changing defrizzing serum. These products have made a significant difference to how my hair looks and feels! My hair is soft and hydrated again, and my split ends are temporarily sealed. Importantly, I'm actually happy with my hair again. 😁👍 And the skincare? Simply amazing. Luscious, fragrant, and filled with the vibrant life and energy of plants like sea buckthorn and kakadu plum. I can’t wait to share my full thoughts with you in my bumper John Masters Organics review! Link in bio. 👛 Use my discount code NB15 for a generous 15% discount (excluding collections) - available until the end of April. Affiliate code earns me a small commission at no cost to you. Shown in the photos are some of my favourites - the beautiful golden cleansing balm, defrizzing hair serum with its elegant dropper, and the vitamin C serum. The vitamin C serum is my favourite - it's great value for money and has some lovely ingredients including ferulic acid, aspen bark, and superoxide dismutase. Have you tried John Masters Organics before?

HAPPY GIRL! 🌿 Just my happy little girl having HAPPY GIRL! 🌿 Just my happy little girl having fun playing at our village green. She has so much fun hopping on stones and generally making fun out of what adults would perhaps see as nothing. She is actually starting to follow strangers around now desperate for human company beyond our family. It's funny, but also really sad. She's had none of the play dates and toddler groups that her brother had at the same age. 😢 It's such a formative age, and I really hope our toddlers will bounce back from this lack of contact. 💗 How have your children been with the lack of social contact during lockdown?
POPPY'S NATURAL SKINCARE 🌿 Ad: gifted. In my la POPPY'S NATURAL SKINCARE 🌿 Ad: gifted. In my latest blog, link in bio, I review @poppysnaturalskincare balms. Spoiler: as an eczema and psoriasis sufferer, I’m so happy to have discovered Poppy’s Natural Skincare! Poppy’s not only helps me manage my dry skin conditions with effective and healing natural skincare, but offers personal attention to detail that leaves me feeling so cared for. It really sets Poppy’s Natural Skincare apart! I gladly recommend them to anybody with eczema, psoriasis or any other dry skin condition. From Poppy’s collection, I tried the luscious Super Moisturising Organic Body Butter in unfragranced, and the Soothing Neem & Chamomile Balm. The moisturising body butter is seriously rich and thick with the natural fragrance of shea and cocoa butters. With regular use my skin feels soft and supple. The patches of psoriasis on my elbows are comfortable and less scaly. I also use the body butter on my daughter who gets dry skin behind her ears and on her arms. I’m really happy with Poppy’s Body Butter! It certainly is super moisturising – a power house body butter to add to my skincare collection. And it was love at first sniff of the wonderful neem & chamomile balm! Sweet and floral, I reach for it every time my hands flare and become itchy and it certainly helps to break the itch scratch cycle so typical of eczema. I love borage and chickweed as ingredients as they show so much promise for bringing away irritation. This duo in the last few days so very deservedly won the 2021 Editor's Choice Awards @beautyshortlist 🎉 Congratulations Poppy’s! Come and find out more about Poppy’s and how I got on with her products over on my blog, link in bio. Do you have a dry skin condition? How do you treat it?
FEAR OF VACUUMS 🌿 just my boy, chilling with h FEAR OF VACUUMS 🌿 just my boy, chilling with his "pet" vacuum cleaner! Can you believe he used to be terrified of the vacuum cleaner? I mean, a real panic fear that sent him white and quivering. This fear of such an innocuous household item can seem irrational to adults, but it’s actually very common! Most children will outgrow their fear of vacuum cleaners, but there’s a lot we can do along the way to help them overcome their fears. If you're currently going through the same thing, why not come over to my blog to read how we helped Jonah's through? Link in bio. Eventually, at about 3 years old, Jonah’s fear of the vacuum cleaner melted away. I think everything we did plus his developmental readiness to overcome his fear all came together at once. Vacuum cleaners are now his best friend. Yes, he helps me with the vacuuming! And he thinks, plays, and draws Henry vacuums all day! Swipe to see one of his pictures. 🥰 We're so proud of him! Have your children got any fears? How have you helped them?
CANDLES FOR BETTER SLEEP 🌿 Do you struggle with CANDLES FOR BETTER SLEEP 🌿 Do you struggle with restful sleep? Today over on my blog, link in bio, I'm reviewing the beautiful and sleep inducing Kiss The Moon @kissthemoonxx Peace Candle with Vanilla and Rosewood. My sleep has been so disturbed recently. I'm not sure what's going on, but I wake far too early and find it hard to get back to sleep. Good sleep habits are essential, but a winter lockdown can make keeping a steady routine hard. With this beautiful luxury candle, the promise is a comforting fragrance that leaves us with a sense of contentment before bed. It's 100% natural soy wax and delicately fragranced with vanilla, rosewood, and a touch of bitter orange. Each candle is hand-poured in small batches in the UK into these beautiful etched glasses. Opening the beautiful sturdy gift box, I am met with the fragrance of creamy vanilla and refreshing orange. Lighting the candle, the wick jumps to life and a warm ambience is thrown around my bedroom. After a few minutes of burning, the bedroom fills with the delicate and peaceful fragrance. I can feel my cares drift away as part of my evening wind-down routine – no screens and a good book with a warm drink! Has it helped my sleep? Indirectly, for sure it has! I love lighting it before bed. It's so beautiful to experience and is a wonderful way to quieten the busy mind before bed. My Kiss The Moon Candle is one of the most beautiful and high-quality candles I've had the pleasure of trying. Have you tried Kiss The Moon before? How do you help yourself to better sleep?
HELLEBORE 🌿 Just my beautiful Hellebore covered HELLEBORE 🌿 Just my beautiful Hellebore covered in snow last week. What a difference in temperature now - spring is nearly here! Also known as the Christmas Rose, there's a beautiful story behind it. "Helleborus niger is commonly called the Christmas rose, due to an old legend that it sprouted in the snow from the tears of a young girl who had no gift to give the Christ child in Bethlehem." (source: Wikipedia) My Hellebore was the first flower to appear in my yard this winter. It thrives in shade so it's a perfect choice for my dark yard. We don't have a garden but I arrange seasonal plants on a table outside my kitchen window so I can always see life. I also have a dogwood, with its bright red sticks, and a Mahonia, with beautiful yellow flowers and blue berries growing close to the window so there's always colour and interest while I'm doing my washing up. We rarely see birds in the yard, but during the snow last week a little bird alighted on my table. It must've been looking for food or shelter from the snow. It was lovely to see! Do you like caring for plants? What can you see from your kitchen window?
