LoveLula May 2019 Beauty Box review

LoveLula May 2019 Beauty Box review

Before this month’s LoveLula box arrived, I was craving something a little bit unique and different. Well, LoveLula impressed me again! My favourite item of the box is just that.

May’s subscriber box contains 4 full-size natural beauties, plus a great sample. The value of the May box is £76, but it costs just £14.95 as a monthly subscriber.

I hope you enjoy my review of the LoveLula May 2019 Beauty Box.

Advert: I received this LoveLula Beauty Box to review by LoveLula. My views are honest and my own.

Mádara Re:gene Volume Rebuild Lifting Mask

Now, when I discovered this item in my box, I felt like I’d come across something different and special that might bring about the instant gratification we all crave from skincare – even though we know short term results are probably cosmetic. Mádara promise that the mask delivers visible lifting, plumping, and wrinkle-smoothing properties. Interestingly, it claims to restore the youthful, V-shaped contours of a younger person. It does this using birch water and firming amino acids, which aim to bring volume, plump out deep wrinkles, and improve sagging. Quite some claims!

Mádara Re:gene Volume Rebuild Lifting Mask

So, this is a face mask that you can wipe off, or leave on. Personally, I’ve only ever left it on – I use it as a sleeping mask. The mask itself is a rather unusual grey colour and very mildly scented. It’s not off-putting, and its thick, cooling texture feels great after cleansing. It doesn’t rub off on to my pillow and I wake up with a soft, well hydrated visage, which is a really good thing! I’m still making my mind up as to whether it lives up to its anti-ageing claims, and I’ll be sure to post my thoughts in my empties post when I’ve had more time to try the product.

Ayumi Sandalwood Body Scrub

How did LoveLula know I needed this product to rid me of my dull winter skin? This sandalwood and ylang ylang body scrub contains smooth pumice particles and olive seed powder to buff away dead skin cells, while exotic oils of Amazonian babassu and jojoba maintain softness.

Ayumi Sandalwood Body Scrub

This scrub took me by surprise because it’s something of a cleansing gel as well as a scrub. Its fragrance is richly sandalwood, and quite intoxicating. It works on the principles of Ayurveda, deeply stimulating senses and leaving a deep down clean feeling. I’m so pleased this came in the box as it’s really helping me feel ready to bare my arms and legs again!

JOIK Silky Lip Balm

This is the third successive lip balm we’ve received in the box, but I never tire of lip balm! And this one is a little bit different. It’s a tinted lip balm which nourishes the lips with cocoa butter, babassu, avocado, and jojoba oils, whilst leaving subtle colour and shine.

JOIK Silky Lip Balm

My lips are highly pigmented, so I do find that pale lip balm or lipstick tends to get lost on me, this one included. The balm is quite solid and it comes in a lipstick format. Because of this, you have to be careful not to wind the stick up too high and snap the balm like I did – oops! The balm has a nice feel and finish, it’s fragrance-free and unsweetened, which is good to note. Another great natural lip balm for my stash – thanks LoveLula!

Seascape Island Apothecary Refresh Hand Cream

I was really impressed when I saw this in the box. It’s a light but effective hand and nail cream which promises to sink in quickly, leaving a lovely finish to the hands and cuticles. The beneficial ingredients are wonderful – 100% natural soothing Jersey lavender, refreshing lemongrass, and balancing geranium along with Jersey beeswax and shea butter.

Seascape Island Apothecary Refresh Hand Cream

The packaging is beautiful, and it’s a cracking size bottle which is sure to last a while. However, I’ll be passing this on as a gift since it contains phenoxyethanol which I don’t use while breastfeeding. Won’t it make a lovely gift though? Whoever receives this will be a lucky lady!

Vestige Verdant Organic Peat Mask

I’ve seen so many bloggers using this curious mask. Interestingly, it’s made from organic peat which has remained untouched for thousands of years. Apparently this peat is filled with reinvigorating bioactive ingredients which offer amazing detox abilities. Vestige Verdant claim it to be the most effective face mask out there, a grand claim!

Vestige Verdant Organic Peat Mask

Well, what can I say? The mask looks and feels like peat from bog. As for the smell, it’s slightly bog-like, but not in an off-putting way – just in a “you know it’s peat” kind of way! As for results, my skin was smoother and more refined, but I think I need to use it again to get a good idea of its true capabilities. One thing to note is that this is a messy mask! During the wash off I made quite a mess – but it was fun. I scared my kids too!

This is another really gorgeous box from LoveLula. I really like the mix of favourite brands with new brands; exciting new skincare, and something traditional, and of course a wonderful tinted lip balm.
