POPPY'S NATURAL SKINCARE 🌿 Ad: gifted. In my la POPPY'S NATURAL SKINCARE 🌿 Ad: gifted. In my latest blog, link in bio, I review @poppysnaturalskincare balms. Spoiler: as an eczema and psoriasis sufferer, I’m so happy to have discovered Poppy’s Natural Skincare! Poppy’s not only helps me manage my dry skin conditions with effective and healing natural skincare, but offers personal attention to detail that leaves me feeling so cared for. It really sets Poppy’s Natural Skincare apart! I gladly recommend them to anybody with eczema, psoriasis or any other dry skin condition. From Poppy’s collection, I tried the luscious Super Moisturising Organic Body Butter in unfragranced, and the Soothing Neem & Chamomile Balm. The moisturising body butter is seriously rich and thick with the natural fragrance of shea and cocoa butters. With regular use my skin feels soft and supple. The patches of psoriasis on my elbows are comfortable and less scaly. I also use the body butter on my daughter who gets dry skin behind her ears and on her arms. I’m really happy with Poppy’s Body Butter! It certainly is super moisturising – a power house body butter to add to my skincare collection. And it was love at first sniff of the wonderful neem & chamomile balm! Sweet and floral, I reach for it every time my hands flare and become itchy and it certainly helps to break the itch scratch cycle so typical of eczema. I love borage and chickweed as ingredients as they show so much promise for bringing away irritation. This duo in the last few days so very deservedly won the 2021 Editor's Choice Awards @beautyshortlist 🎉 Congratulations Poppy’s! Come and find out more about Poppy’s and how I got on with her products over on my blog, link in bio. Do you have a dry skin condition? How do you treat it?
FEAR OF VACUUMS 🌿 just my boy, chilling with h FEAR OF VACUUMS 🌿 just my boy, chilling with his "pet" vacuum cleaner! Can you believe he used to be terrified of the vacuum cleaner? I mean, a real panic fear that sent him white and quivering. This fear of such an innocuous household item can seem irrational to adults, but it’s actually very common! Most children will outgrow their fear of vacuum cleaners, but there’s a lot we can do along the way to help them overcome their fears. If you're currently going through the same thing, why not come over to my blog to read how we helped Jonah's through? Link in bio. Eventually, at about 3 years old, Jonah’s fear of the vacuum cleaner melted away. I think everything we did plus his developmental readiness to overcome his fear all came together at once. Vacuum cleaners are now his best friend. Yes, he helps me with the vacuuming! And he thinks, plays, and draws Henry vacuums all day! Swipe to see one of his pictures. 🥰 We're so proud of him! Have your children got any fears? How have you helped them?
CANDLES FOR BETTER SLEEP 🌿 Do you struggle with CANDLES FOR BETTER SLEEP 🌿 Do you struggle with restful sleep? Today over on my blog, link in bio, I'm reviewing the beautiful and sleep inducing Kiss The Moon @kissthemoonxx Peace Candle with Vanilla and Rosewood. My sleep has been so disturbed recently. I'm not sure what's going on, but I wake far too early and find it hard to get back to sleep. Good sleep habits are essential, but a winter lockdown can make keeping a steady routine hard. With this beautiful luxury candle, the promise is a comforting fragrance that leaves us with a sense of contentment before bed. It's 100% natural soy wax and delicately fragranced with vanilla, rosewood, and a touch of bitter orange. Each candle is hand-poured in small batches in the UK into these beautiful etched glasses. Opening the beautiful sturdy gift box, I am met with the fragrance of creamy vanilla and refreshing orange. Lighting the candle, the wick jumps to life and a warm ambience is thrown around my bedroom. After a few minutes of burning, the bedroom fills with the delicate and peaceful fragrance. I can feel my cares drift away as part of my evening wind-down routine – no screens and a good book with a warm drink! Has it helped my sleep? Indirectly, for sure it has! I love lighting it before bed. It's so beautiful to experience and is a wonderful way to quieten the busy mind before bed. My Kiss The Moon Candle is one of the most beautiful and high-quality candles I've had the pleasure of trying. Have you tried Kiss The Moon before? How do you help yourself to better sleep?
HELLEBORE 🌿 Just my beautiful Hellebore covered HELLEBORE 🌿 Just my beautiful Hellebore covered in snow last week. What a difference in temperature now - spring is nearly here! Also known as the Christmas Rose, there's a beautiful story behind it. "Helleborus niger is commonly called the Christmas rose, due to an old legend that it sprouted in the snow from the tears of a young girl who had no gift to give the Christ child in Bethlehem." (source: Wikipedia) My Hellebore was the first flower to appear in my yard this winter. It thrives in shade so it's a perfect choice for my dark yard. We don't have a garden but I arrange seasonal plants on a table outside my kitchen window so I can always see life. I also have a dogwood, with its bright red sticks, and a Mahonia, with beautiful yellow flowers and blue berries growing close to the window so there's always colour and interest while I'm doing my washing up. We rarely see birds in the yard, but during the snow last week a little bird alighted on my table. It must've been looking for food or shelter from the snow. It was lovely to see! Do you like caring for plants? What can you see from your kitchen window?
EARTHY & GROUNDING VETIVER SKINCARE 🌿 Ad: gifte EARTHY & GROUNDING VETIVER SKINCARE 🌿 Ad: gifted. Happy Tuesday my lovely! Today over on my blog, link in bio, I'm focusing on vetiver skincare! Have you heard of vetiver before? Chances are high you'll know its unmistakable warm, earthy, woody, and smoky fragrance. But it's not just a pleasurable fragrance. Vetiver also has specific skincare, emotional, and health benefits, too. It can help with skin cell regeneration and boosts the growth of new cells. 8 THINGS ABOUT ME 🌿 Thanks ever so much for tag 8 THINGS ABOUT ME 🌿 Thanks ever so much for tagging me @beautyfoliouk! Here's me on my wedding day 5 years ago. The lovely @thebalancedmidlife asked to see a wedding photo of me and I remembered how much I love it. I'm not sharing a current selfie as I'm pretty bedraggled at the moment! 😂 I'd never felt more beautiful, although looking at my face now I looked a bit gaunt! I'm more rounded now. 😀 Here are my facts: ➛ Before becoming a full time mum, I was a user interface designer. ➛ I have a BSc in web development and an MSc in visual and web applications. ➛ I love electronic ambient music and dabble in music production. I'll come back to it when my kids are a bit older and I can stick headphones on without worrying about a crying baby! ➛ I have a congenital deformity on my thumb joint called Brachydactyly type D. Texting with my right hand is hard. Until my thirties I thought it was due to sucking my thumb till I was 6. ➛ Photography is my love. 😂 I photograph everything. ➛ Becoming a mum broke and rebuilt me in so many ways. My perception of myself changed hugely. For instance, I thought I was a peaceful person, but now I work on remaining calm. I love my kids beyond words, and thank them for revealing more of myself to me. ➛ As a kid I used to steal my parents beauty products and squirt them into a tub under my bed. A few days to fester, and voila! #formulating ➛ When I was 8, my best friend caught me writing down my bathtime routine and laughed at me. Only when I became a beauty blogger did I stop feeling embarrassed and realise the significance! Now I nominate @piotisnaturals @butterwhips @vanille446 @madaboutbeautyuk, and anybody else who'd like to share! I'd love to know more about you! Photography by the amazing @mattethan.

And today, I’m sharing my latest discovery – Re:connection Skincare @reconnectionskincare Slow Down Sunday Body Butter! This organic, water-free body butter has been spicing up these long winter evenings, with its cosy scent of orange, cinnamon and palmarosa. And my skin is thanking me for the luxurious African butter and oil ingredients, including nourishing mafura butter and rejuvenating baobab oil. Swipe to see the gorgeous whipped texture. Perfect for winter, Slow Down Sunday is water free. It’s best applied when skin is damp to lock in moisture from a bath or shower. Slow Down Sunday is such a beautiful addition to my skincare collection. It’s a perfect slow beauty ritual for soft skin and reconnecting to myself after a week of looking after others. Come and learn more about this treat for the senses over on my blog. Link in bio. Or check it out over at @reconnectionskincare or reconnectionskincare.co.uk. What's your favourite way to reconnect through skincare? PS. I had so much fun creating this slow Sunday scene. My beautiful and delicate winter hellebore is flowering, can you spot it? I have Whittard Orange & Cinnamon fruit infusion in my ceramic cup sent from our friends in Japan. I was so inspired by Re:connection's pompom linen napkin on their feed I got my own. I've since used it in most of my shots as it's super photogenic! I got mine from @houseofbrissi. Then I spotted similar in @asda, so they must be trending. I had reading and chocolates to hand. My books are The Hedgerow Apothecary by Christine Iverson and Play The Forest School Way by Peter Houghton & Jane Worroll. 🧡

This month, I used up a beautiful gel cleanser from @dalchemyskincare_uk, @omoiskincare all-in-one balm, @martinagebhardtuk ginseng face tonic, and more. My littles used up a gentle hydrating body lotion and a baby sleep rollerball. Come and learn more over on my blog. Link in bio. And the book? Recommended by the amazing @naturiabeauty, it's The Nature of Beauty by Imelda Burke, founder of @contentbeauty. ESSENCE OF NATURE CBD SERUM 🌿 Are you a fan of ESSENCE OF NATURE CBD SERUM 🌿 Are you a fan of CBD skincare? I use it daily in my skincare routine. Why? Trendy ingredients come and go, but CBD is a solid ingredient I truly believe in. 💚 And I'm in good company. Cleopatra heavily relied on CBD as part of her skincare regime. Obviously, she didn’t use the CBD we know today, since this was only isolated in the 1940s. But CBD has always been within the beautiful cannabis plant. Today its use is becoming more popular, and happily its value for skin is being realised again. The benefits? CBD contains lots of lovely antioxidants to help to lessen the visible signs of ageing. It can reduce inflammation and balance oil levels, making it a great choice for acne prone skin. Dry and sensitive skins benefits too. I’ve found it perfect for healing wind-torn skin on my face and hands. 🌿 And my latest discovery? 🌿 Essence of Nature @essenceofnature2019 CBD Serum (ad: gifted). A lightweight, non-greasy oil-based serum to nourish winter skin. I love how it seems to help my skin keep its hydration and brings a lovely glow too! I’ve been using it AM and PM for about 2 weeks now, and I’m really impressed with it. Thank you, Lisa! 😘 ➛ Fits easily into my routine. ➛ Light and fast absorbing, plays well with SPF. ➛ Smells beautiful, floral and mildy resinous. ➛ In a dark glass bottle to protect the goodness. ➛ Vegan friendly & cruelty free. A bottle of Essence of Nature CBD Serum 300mg costs £20 for 20ml. 🛍️ Take 10% off with my code HELEN10. JUICE CLEANSE FOR SKIN 🌿 Hello again, my beauti JUICE CLEANSE FOR SKIN 🌿 Hello again, my beautiful skincare lover! Today I'm excited to share my thoughts on the latest product in the Beauty Cleanse Skincare @beautycleanseskincare collection. It's the wonderful Cabbage + Cranberry + Hemp Anti-Pollution Deep Cleansing Oil! As an ambassador for Beauty Cleanse Skincare, I was delighted to be one of the first to try this cleansing oil. I’ve had a week to try it and it’s fast becoming one of my favourite oil cleansers. Described by the brand as “a juice cleanse for city skin”, the gentle fragrance-free oil-to-milk cleanser works for all, but is especially helpful for stressed out and blemish prone skin. And those of us living with the effects of pollution and suffering with the dreaded “maskne” will really benefit. Here’s what sets it apart for me. It contains 2 upcycled superfood ingredients – balancing hemp seed oil and anti-inflammatory cranberry seed oil, which would be otherwise wasted by the food industry. This not only benefits skin, but minimises waste and encourages aware consumption. Come and learn more + grab your 10% discount code over on my blog, link in bio. Or head over to beautycleanseakincare.com with my discount code HELEN10. Have you tried Beauty Cleanse Skincare before? What do you think about oil cleansers?
