It seems like no time at all since I reviewed the June box, and now here I am writing about the LoveLula July 2018 Beauty Box! Summer flies by, doesn’t it?
I’m always impressed by the LoveLula Beauty Box, and this month is no exception. July’s box has some amazing picks to help you take care of your skin during the summer months. It features 7 natural skincare and haircare products, 4 of which are full size. It’s worth over £53, but costs just £13.95 as a subscriber.
Shall we take a look inside the box?
Disclosure: I received the LoveLula July 2018 Beauty Box to review by LoveLula, but my opinions are honest and my own.
CHOBS Organic Aloe Sheet Mask
This has to be my favourite item of the box. I’m a big natural sheet mask fan, and this is one of the nicest I’ve tried, with the cleanest ingredient list. After water, anti-inflammatory aloe is the second biggest ingredient in the mask. Just take a look at some of the benefits of aloe in skincare.
There’s also skullcap extract to brighten the skin, and peony to protect against sun damage.
Easy to apply, the mask fits well and doesn’t slip. The serum in this mask is very generous – I was using it several days after I was done with the mask.
I love the results from this mask – my skin was so soft after using it, and it looked brighter too. I’d definitely buy it again. There are several others in the range to try too.

Ooh! Oils of Heaven Organic Hemp Balancing Face Oil
This is the fourth Ooh! oil in my collection, and hemp is a little bit different to the oils I already have. Ooh! Hemp Oil is cold pressed which is a sign of a quality oil.
This ultra-low comedogenic oil is perfect for acne-prone, oily, or combination skin, since it’s unlikely to block pores. But it’s actually good for all skins, making it a great all-rounder. It delivers precious omega oils to the skin, which are extremely beneficial.
I use this oil after spritzing my skin with rose water and before moisturiser. Needless to say, my skin likes this oil very much. I’ve had no breakouts, and my skin is velvety soft after using it.
A great pick for everybody with this one, thanks LoveLula!

Balm Balm Tea Tree Face Balm
I’m a big Balm Balm fan. It’s simply love at first sight with their products. They’re such good quality at a reasonable price, have short and clean ingredients lists, and are wonderfully effective.
Balm Balm offer a range of multi-use balms. This one is for the face, but can actually be used anywhere.
Skin is nourished and protected by shea butter, jojoba, and sunflower oils. The balm also contains calendula oil to heal and soothe. The star of the balm, tea tree, is a well known anti-microbial and anti-fungal agent.
I really love how this balm feels – it’s so silky and light. The smell of tea tree isn’t at all overpowering, and doesn’t last long on the skin.
We used a little on Jonah’s sweat rash when he’d been in his car seat too long during hot weather – I’m sure it helped to clear it up.
This is a really handy balm for things that niggle during the summer months!

My. Haircare Infuse My. Colour Treat Conditioner
I spotted this brand on LoveLula, and enjoyed looking at before and after shots of hair after using My. Haircare’s colour shampoo range.
The conditioner contains sunflower seed, sweet almond, and neroli oils to nourish the hair.
And I have to say, this is how I expect a conditioner to be – it’s thick, creamy, and easy to apply. It has a strong fragrance, probably not naturally derived.
It gives me really good results – soft and swishy hair. The kind of results I expect from a silicone-based conditioner. Interestingly, the conditioner contains natural silicone alternatives behentrimonium chloride and centrimonium chloride.
These ingredients are conditioning and detangling agents, and improve manageability.
But natural doesn’t mean gentle – on EWG both these conditioning agents have an amber rating of 3 with irritation concerns, which seems worrisome. However, EWG doesn’t give the full picture since the ingredient is approved for use at concentrations of less than .1%.
The conditioner also contains phenoxyethanol and perfume. The preservative phenoxyethanol can cause sensitivity in some, and is an ingredient I totally avoid in baby and child products. However, I’m more forgiving of this ingredient in a wash-off adult product.
Perfume listed as an ingredient could be anything, but again it’s mostly rinsed away by water.
Phew, there’s a lot to consider with this conditioner! Even though I don’t like a few of the ingredients, I’m going to keep on using it till it runs out because it works so well. The risks seem low given the nature of the product. I wouldn’t buy it, but it’s too good to stash or give away.

Apple & Bears Mini Bergamot & Green Tea Luxury Body Wash
This travel size bottle makes a cute addition to the box. This is my first time using Apple & Bears, although I’ve seen their products reviewed by bloggers who’ve said good things about the brand.
It’s both a body wash and a shampoo, and it’s good at both! The body wash contains some really lovely natural ingredients such as bergamot fruit oil and green tea extract, both of which contain beneficial antioxidants to protect the skin.
The fragrance is very mild, but the bergamot is just detectable. It boggles my brain that this one seems to contain artificial fragrance, since the scent is almost undetectable.
It lathers slightly less than others, but still creates a nice foam. The wash left me feeling nice and clean in this roasting summer weather, and the gel is light enough to easily get out of the bottle without a struggle.
I’ll be keeping my eye on this brand in the future, but avoiding the products that contain artificial fragrance.

D’Alchemy Age-Cancellation Booster Sample
I’m not sure about the name of this product (do I really need to cancel my age?), but I’ve had my eye on D’Alchemy products on LoveLula, since they appear to offer some unique skincare benefits.
I would buy this product based on scent alone – it is glorious! It has a very complex and evocative orange scent.
There is quite a lot to say about this product, I recommend following the link in the button below to read about the claims made and the ingredients.
This is a light day or evening lotion for mature, oily, or combination skins, that aims to firm, improve elasticity, hydrate and mattify the skin. It also claims to tighten the collagen networks of the skin, and reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles.
Some key ingredients – and there are many – include lemon and verbena hydrosols to soften, cleanse, and even out skin tone. Soybean polysaccharide for anti-ageing and restructuring effects. Acerola, cranberry, and guarana extracts for lifting and regenerating. And – how cool is this – bamboo shoot extract to absorb excess sebum and mattify the skin! Who knew?
It’s impossible to test all these claims with a small sachet, but I really enjoyed using this sample. I’m so interested in D’Alchemy products now!
John Masters Rosemary & Arnica Body Wash Sample
I’ve used a couple of John Masters Organics samples before but never invested in a full size product.
Rosemary and arnica are really helpful ingredients in a body wash. Rosemary is an excellent cleansing and disinfecting herb. Arnica is antibacterial, antiseptic, and has anti-inflammatory qualities. Arnica can help skin to heal so is excellent for sunburn – great at this time of year!
There is no overpowering rosemary scent, it has a very delicate fragrance. And it works very well as a body wash, lathering and cleansing well.
A really nice body wash, and a great pick for summer due to its arnica ingredient.

I love sheet masks. They make it so easy to use on those days you don’t want to apply a traditional mask.
