Little Baby Bum Live Show review

Jonah and Martin at the Little Baby Bum live show

This post is a little bit different to my usual, but I’m itching to share our experience! I hope you enjoy my Little Baby Bum Live Show review!

Have you heard of Little Baby Bum before? Some of my mama friends haven’t – some know it well. For those who haven’t, Little Baby Bum is YouTube’s number 1 educational children’s channel. It also appears on Netflix.

Jonah has been a huge huge fan since he was about 18 months old – he’s 2 years old now. In fact, it was one of the first things he enjoyed to watch.

What is Little Baby Bum?

The cute 3D animations feature traditional nursery rhymes and original songs and centre around several loveable characters such as Mia, Jacus, Baa Baa, Daisy, Pig, Incy Wincy, Baby Panda, Robot, and Twinkle, to name just a few.

One of the channel’s videos, The Wheels on the Bus, is the twentieth most watched on YouTube, which is pretty amazing!

Created by parents for parents (and grandparents), the show aims to be fun for both children and their families.

Why do we love it?

I have such a soft spot for Little Baby Bum. Jonah and I share cosy times cuddling and watching LBB when he’s poorly or upset.

Jonah’s favourite Little Baby Bum character is Baa Baa the sheep – the explorer of the group, a bit like Jonah, who loves exploring his surroundings and being active.

I’m pretty sure the Colour Train and Shapes Train songs sparked Jonah’s love for trains.

There’s a live show?

Imagine our excitement when we learned a Little Baby Bum Live Show would be touring the country and appearing in Newcastle at the Theatre Royal. We immediately booked tickets for all our family.

Arriving at the Little Baby Bum Live Show

We arrived after an hour’s car drive and a 10 minute Metro ride. We took our seats in the stalls about 15 minutes before the performance was due to begin, and armed ourselves with drinks and snacks.

The show started at exactly the given time which was perfect as Jonah was starting to get restless! He wanted to see his favourite characters!

About the show

Glued to his seat, Jonah loved every single minute of the hour long Little Baby Bum Live Show! It was so much fun – colourful, catchy, and engaging.

Little Baby Bum performers

I don’t want to give too much away. But the show combines puppetry, live action, and digital animation, and follows Mia, Jacus, Twinkle, and more into the magical and colourful world of Little Baby Bum.

The show contains both familiar and new elements, and features several songs that appear in the videos.

Expect to sing along to “Old McDonald had a Farm”, “Wise Old Owl”, “One Potato, Two Potato”, “Mr Sun”, and more, all hosted by friendly Little Baby Bum World guides Jack and Jill. So cute!

The characters encourage children and parents to join in, sing, dance, and follow along in the adventure.

It was so nice to hear Jonah singing along to parts of the songs with the characters!
