In this review, I’m delighted to introduce a very special baby and toddler shampoo. Enfance Paris Gentle Shampoo is one of the nicest shampoos my little ones have had the pleasure of trying.

Since this is my first encounter with Enfance Paris, let’s learn a little bit about this brand.
A child’s skin is the most precious there is…
French mother Agnès Laffourcade created Enfance Paris to develop the products she couldn’t find in the stores for her children. What makes the brand unique is that its organic clean skincare products are tailored to different ages of children, from birth to adolescence.
Since both my children are under 3, I’ll be using those aimed at the 0 to 3 range.
The focus is on caring for delicate skin with gentle beneficial aromatherapy-based formulations and natural vegetable butters.
I’m so impressed with the quality of the brand. Firstly, all products aim to meet the highest quality and safety standards. Enfance Paris naturally exclude the 1,328 chemical substances banned in Europe. You’ll find no GMO ingredients, synthetic fragrance, parabens, PEG, BHA, BHT, phthalates, EDTA, phenoxyethanol, organohalogen compounds, or sulphates.
All products are cruelty-free and vegan.
An impressive 99% of ingredients are of natural origin! I love that the products are compatible with children’s skin, and with allergenic risk in mind.
All this wrapped up in eco-friendly and recyclable packaging.
So, now we know more, let’s take a look at the shampoo.
Enfance Paris Gentle Shampoo
Enfance Paris claim this is an innovative formula with only the bare essential ingredients included to thoroughly clean hair.
It has an extra gentle cleansing base with no texturising agents or silicone, just effective and aromatic organic active ingredients. It’s gentle on baby skin conditions like cradle cap.
Our experience using Enfance Paris Gentle Shampoo
The first thing to note about this shampoo is the beautiful elegant packaging. This shampoo is probably unlike a baby and children’s shampoo you’ve used before. I certainly hadn’t! Its texture is actually more like water than shampoo.
To dispense, push down on the pump action bottle to receive a small amount – that’s all it takes for a baby. For a toddler with more hair, you need more. I love how easy it is to get just the right amount for a small baby without much hair. It’s often a waste to dispense too much, isn’t it?
Enfance Paris Gentle Shampoo smells gently of neroli. It’s not overpowering, but it’s softly citrus and soapy. Perfect for little ones.
Despite the water-based format, the shampoo lathers very well. It cleans perfectly and softly lingers on the scalp without masking your baby’s delicious head scent. Once you’ve finished lovingly massaging it into your baby’s scalp, it’s ever so easy to rinse away.
Let’s see the ingredients.
Enfance Paris Gentle Shampoo ingredients
Aqua (Water), Citrus Aurantium Amara (Orange Bitter) Flower Water, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Leaf Water, Decyl Glucoside, Glycerin, Sodium Cocoylglutamate, Coco-glucoside, Glyceryl Oleate, Inulin, Sodium Benzoate, Citric Acid, Levulinic Acid, Sodium Chloride, Sodium Levulinate.
How do the ingredients help?
Orange flower water is soothing and toning, and takes good care of cradle cap and delicate baby hair. Because it can balance oil, it may be helpful in treating cradle cap, which is both an oily and dry skin problem.
Witch hazel can stabilise an oily scalp without stripping it of moisture, making it a great choice for babies prone to cradle cap.
Final thoughts on Enfance Paris Gentle Shampoo
My 6 month old daughter Cara really loves this shampoo. It’s a delight to use and wonderfully effective! I really feel like the shampoo is helping Cara’s cradle cap, minimising its appearance and slowing down the oil production of her scalp.
I love the ethos behind the brand, the packaging, and of course the clean ingredients. Although a bit more expensive than most, the bottle is great value for money as you use only a few drops for each shampoo.
