Do you love neroli skin care products? Me too! Neroli is uplifting, romantic and calming. Perfect for post lockdown emotional support. And so many natural beauty bloggers love neroli skin care too!

One of my favourite memories as a young girl was sitting under my mum’s mock orange tree in the garden, listening to the bees buzzing around the fragrant blooms. When mock orange (aka “Philadelphus Virginalis”) is about to blossom, my thoughts turn to neroli (aka Bitter Orange, “Citrus Aurantium“).

My favourite way to enjoy the benefits of neroli is in skin care. My favourite place to shop them? LoveLula of course!

So this post is all about neroli – what it is, neroli skin care benefits, and my roundup of blogger neroli skin care favourites.

What is neroli in skincare?

Neroli in beauty care is created by adding neroli essential oil or hydrosol to skin and hair care products.

With a refreshing floral aroma, it helps to nourish and replenish your skin, as well as uplifting your mood and emotions.

Neal’s Yard Remedies

Its aromatherapeutic qualities, along with its delicate orange fragrance, make it a popular addition to many natural beauty formulations.

Why is neroli good for skin?

Why is neroli so well loved by bloggers in their skin and hair care? And what can neroli do for me?

According to Decleor, neroli can:

  • Intensely moisturise skin and hair
  • Boost the natural processes of the epidermis
  • Help combat breakouts and scalp problems because it has strong antibacterial properties
  • Help to age-proof the skin by delivering antioxidants

And the benefits are emotional, too. Neroli can:

  • Help us get a better night’s sleep due to its calming effect
  • Boost a low mood – who doesn’t love the cheerful and soothing fragrance of orange blossom?

So let’s look at the blogger neroli favourites now. I’m excited! These are such great products, I can’t wait to share them with you!

PHB Skin Brightener Bio-Gel | Lola at Discover Green Beauty

Lola chose this brightening gel with neroli, aloe vera, immortelle, and liquorice to regenerate and boost radiance.

As a woman of colour, my number one skin concern is hyper-pigmentation – the overproduction of melanin in the skin.

It’s rich in essential nutrients that brighten and target discolouration for glowing, even skin.

Laboratoire du Haut-Segala Neroli Water | Camille at French Honesty

A delicately-scented floral water by French brand Laboratoire du Haut-Segala to refresh, calm and soften every skin type.

I have been using this prior to using an oil, since oils absorb better on wet skin.

This neroli flower water has a multitude of uses. It soothes sun-damaged skin, and can be used as a toner or between skin care steps.
