My January 2020 natural beauty empties marks 2 whole years of writing about my empties! I really love creating empties posts. I get to share all the lovely skincare that I enjoyed enough to finish up, but might not have had chance to review in a separate post.

And it has been a bumper month for using up lots of delicious natural and organic skincare products.

I present probiotic serum, age-defying body cream, daily moisturiser for eczema, natural haircare, natural makeup, and much more!

So let’s get started rooting through my empties box!

Esse Plus Probiotic Serum

Have you tried probiotic skincare before? It’s recommended by many dermatologists, since our skin is dependent on the balance of good and bad microbes living on and in the skin.

Esse Plus Probiotic Serum

What’s the hype with probiotic skincare?

Research has shown that probiotic skincare can protect our skin from bad bacteria, and potentially inflammation and ageing – all while balancing the skin’s pH levels.

I’ve only just started to learn about the benefits of using probiotic skincare, and it’s super-interesting. Since this is an area of interest for me, I’d like to try more probiotic natural skincare and share my thoughts here. I’m hoping probiotic skincare can help heal the eczema on my hands.

Back to Esse Plus Probiotic Serum

Esse created this serum in its plus range, which as the same suggests, offers a little something extra. These products aim to “boost your skin’s microbiome for maximum anti-ageing results”.

The serum contains 50 million live probiotics per drop!

Along with probiotics, the serum also contains marula oil, jojoba oil, and shea butter for a nourishing and moisturising experience.

Using Esse Plus Probiotic Serum – my experience

This is a thick, oil-based serum in a glass pump bottle. It has the enjoyable, comforting fragrance of vanilla. I press one pump of the serum into my skin between my water-based serum and my moisturiser.

As for results, the greatest benefit for me was a reduction in the redness of my skin and healing of a dry patch on my forehead that appears in winter. The serum helped my skin to retain more moisture and improved my skin’s radiance over time. I hope this was down to the probiotics.

Any figures? Well, according to Esse, independent testing proved the product increases skin firmness by 16% in 28 days. All testers had positive results with the serum, which really speaks well for it.

Of course, the downside to this product is the price. It would be very expensive for most at £100 a bottle. That said, I’d so love to explore more from the range and would be quite willing to invest my money to find out more.

D’Alchemy Age-Cancellation Booster

As I’ve mentioned already I love, love, love D’Alchemy and their age-supportive skincare!

D'Alchemy Age-Cancellation Booster

This moisturiser for oily and combination skin was so easy to use up! It smells beautiful and hydrates well, leaving a matte finish. It’s not quite rich enough for me everyday in winter so I’ve switched to their Age Defence Broad Spectrum Remedy which is perfect for normal to dry skin.

Age Cancellation Booster is great if you have oily mature or sensitive skin, or even for breakout days!

Logona Concealer Cream

This was a very good value for money little concealer. Its texture is very liquid and it dries quickly to a non-greasy matte finish. I had to work quickly to blend it! As for the coverage, it’s medium.

Logona Concealer Cream

Unfortunately the applicator snapped off inside the tube and was irretrievable so I probably won’t buy this again.
