Welcome back, beauty lovers! I was so excited to learn about Green People’s new Nordic Roots range! And earlier this month I was lucky enough to receive a complimentary bottle of Green People Nordic Roots Hyaluronic Booster Serum to try.

Clean, conscious Nordic skin care. Take pleasure from the beauty of nature with pure hard-working skin care from Nordic Roots.
According to Green People, their new collection is “inspired by the Scandinavian love of purity, simplicity and functionality”, and “delivers powerful results with a simple and synergistic blend of clean, honest ingredients”.
Just recently there has been a big interest in Nordic skincare. Perhaps it’s the simplicity and the minimalist attitude of Nordic countries that appeals. And there’s a certain potency to northern botanical ingredients. Enduring harsh winters means they’re extra potent. Often they’re from wild harvested from sustainable sources.
Formulations are simpler and contain natural ingredients that work together to improve skin quality – think antioxidant-rich berries, hops, and seaweed.
I’m completely on board with Nordic skincare! So let’s take a look at this lovely serum!
Green People Nordic Roots Hyaluronic Booster Serum
Green People describe their new serum as “a natural, scent free serum with hyaluronic acid for calm, dewy skin”. It’s suitable for all skin types, even very sensitive.
According to Green People, this serum is great for an instant hit of hydration to renew the look of your skin. Expect plumped skin and a reduction in the appearance of fine lines – sounds great!
Green People Hyaluronic Booster Serum is certified COSMOS Natural by EcoCert and 100% of its ingredients are natural. It’s 22.8% organic.
Notable ingredients include:
- Hyaluronic acid as sodium hyaluronate. This form is easily absorbed, allowing it to hydrate the deeper layers of skin (learn about the different types of hyaluronic acid).
- Hop flowers to target hyper-pigmentation and age spots.
- Anti-ageing sugar beets to help stimulate cell reproduction and repair.
Hyaluronic acid draws moisture, but it doesn’t keep it there. So to maximise its effectiveness you need to give it moisture with a hydrating moisturiser and lock it all in with a facial oil. Green People recommend using items from the Nordic Roots range, but I’ve been using my normal moisturiser and facial oil.
But how did we get on?
My experience with Green People Hyaluronic Booster Serum
Green People Hyaluronic Booster Serum comes in a recyclable 25% grass-based box and clear glass bottle with dropper. I’m not sure why it’s not in a dark bottle to protect it from UV light. But I keep mine in the box to protect it.
The water-based serum is fragrance free and has no discernible fragrance. It applies easily without much slip and absorbs super quickly to leave a non-tacky, non-shiny finish.
For some reason, it seems to suffer with the odd air bubble from the dropper – but this doesn’t get in the way of application.
Unfortunately, I haven’t noticed this serum to be any more hydrating than the hyaluronic acid serums I’m currently using and have used in the past. These include Typlogy hyaluronic serum with B5, Ere Perez Green Smoothie Serum, and Mad Hippie Vitamin C serum.
But you know, these are effective serums! And in skincare, we do reach the point of diminishing returns. Also, the season is now changing and my skin is getting thirstier. So it could be bad timing for trying this serum now. I’ve only been testing it for 2 weeks, so it’s early days.
If you’re new to serums or have particularly sensitive skin, I think this serum would be a nice place to start. It’s also nice to use pared down skincare that works well with others in the same range. If you’re a Green People fan, this could well be the serum for you!
I really love Green People and the simplicity of this serum, so I have long-term hopes for it. I’d love update you on its long-term benefits in my empties post, so please do subscribe to hear about it.
