This serum marries two of my favourite things – coffee and cannabis. It is bold, it is authentic, a coffee lover’s dream, and lusciously rich with cannabis plant extracts – and my skin is loving it!

The minute this product’s box landed in my hands, I knew the experience would be special. Just look at the quality magnetic clasp white box! It’s come in really handy for storing things in my bathroom.
The packaging of the serum is so luxe and beautiful. I love the design of the box with its natural but exotic dark green cannabis leaves and gold detailing.
The box even feels nice in my hand!
Opening the box, I find the green glass dropper bottle. It also features the beautiful gold detailing on the cap and is very lovely indeed.
I can see from the label that the serum contains roasted coffee, papaya, pomegranate, and cannabis sativa extracts containing 150mg full spectrum CBD.
About full spectrum CBD
Ascend use full-spectrum CBD derived from hemp plants in their products. What is full spectrum CBD? Simply put, all components of the plant are included – other cannabinoids, terpenes, and even small amounts of THC (the part that causes a high).

Claims: Caffeine + CBD Brightening Face Oil
Ascend Caffeine + CBD Brightening Face Oil is a blend of 10 botanical extracts and contains clinically effective ingredients that are proven to “make skin brighter and naturally radiant”. It’s suitable for all skin types and especially mature and dull skin. Sensitive skins will enjoy it too, since it contains no fragrance components.
Ingredients
Cannabis Sativa (Hemp) Seed Oil, Isoamyl Laurate, Carica Papaya (Papaya) Seed Oil, Squalane, Punica Granatum (Pomegranate) Seed Oil, Tocopherol, Isoamyl Cocoate, Coffea Arabica (Coffee) Seed Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Cannabidiol.Each bottle contains 150mg full-spectrum CBD, “known for its impressive antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties”. I love that the serum contains hemp seed oil, a totally non-greasy oil that’s perfectly moisturising for most skin types and can even help balance over-oily skin.
Papaya seed oil is quite an amazing oil, brightening and exfoliating the skin while delaying skin ageing. Coffee seed extract and the caffeine it contains helps skin to form more collagen and can help to firm the skin. This has a subtle tightening and brightening effect.
My experience using the serum
Opening the serum I can see the dark rich green colour. Morning and evening, I take about 3-4 drops of the serum and dispense them into my palm. Massaging into my face, the oil feels light and not at all greasy. The oil has quite a dry and silky feeling that’s akin to using a silicone based oil, yet it contains no such ingredient.
Its fragrance is quite wonderful, like roasted coffee and cannabis. Not a burning weed smell, but a fresh and green leafy cannabis aroma. I really love it!
After a few moments, the serum absorbs into my skin. I tend to use it after a hydrating mist and before my moisturiser so it sits closer to my skin and all those lovely antioxidants and brightening plant extracts can get to work.
Afterwards, my skin is so soft and smooth and remains well moisturised throughout the day. After 2 weeks of daily use, my skin is certainly looking brighter and fresher. And I really love how wearable this oil is – there is no greasy feeling whatsoever. This really encourages me to wear it daily, and I know it’s going to have a great long term protective result on my skin.
I also love the positive effect on my mood of using such a luxury and well designed serum. It certainly does help me find a moment of serenity, a bit like a mini coffee and (legal) cannabis break!
Overall verdict: a coffee and cannabis lovers delight. This CBD oil-based serum brightens and future proofs skin with potent antioxidants.

I will have to try this for sure. My skin could use the help. It’s been so dry lately.
I actually work in a store that sells legal CBD so this sounds so interesting to me, I love CBD for anxiety but I still haven’t tried it for my skin. This serum sounds so good so I need to try it
