Welcome back, my beauty friend! Today’s post will be my last for a while, but it’s one I really hope you’ll love hearing about – it’s my review of Croma Farewell Aging Skin Serum!

I’m always pleased to hear from new-to-me brands. And as a Swiss line with years of experience in the pharmaceutical and aesthetic fields, along with a focus on carefully selected ingredients, Croma stood out.

Their Farewell line targets specific skincare issues. Think cleansers, serums, creams, and masks for all kinds of skin situations.

Since ageing is my biggest concern, I chose Croma Farewell Aging Skin Serum. It includes hyaluronic acid, madecassoside, marine ferment extract, and a plant-based alternative to retinol.

Shall we learn more about this serum now?

Croma Farewell Aging Skin Serum

Croma recognises that ageing is a natural process, and although it can’t be stopped, we can help our skin to maintain its elasticity and reduce the visible signs of ageing.

According to Croma, the Farewell Aging Serum is suited to those with older and dull skin and skin already showing the signs of ageing.

The lovely ingredients sound like they really boost ageing skin – the product description promises increased moisture, suppleness, and firmness. Let’s look at the ingredients.

Ingredients

Aqua, Pentylene Glycol, Ascorbyl Glucoside, Lactic Acid, Sodium Hydroxide, Sodium Hyaluronate, Propanediol, Vigna Aconitifolia Seed Extract, Madecassoside, Lysolecithin, Sclerotium Gum, Maltodextrin, Xanthan Gum, Pullulan, Glyceryl Caprylate, Silica, Pseudoalteromonas Ferment Extract.

What can these ingredients do for our skin? I love that Farewell Aging contains vitamin C, a serum must-have for antioxidant and skin brightening properties.

Vigna Aconitifolia is the touted retinol alternative – it is said to increase cell turnover without any of the side effects of retinol.

Madecassoside is a really interesting ingredient that’s found in centella asiatica – this is my first time using a product with this ingredient, so I’m super excited!

Now we know what this serum can do, do you want to hear my experience of it?

My experience

Croma Farewell Aging Serum is in an elegant square glass bottle with a dropper. Housed in a cardboard carton on this wooden plinth, it’s so satisfying to use and place back on its own stand and certainly makes the application process feel so important!

The serum itself is light in colour and texture. It’s slightly silky and unfragranced but has a faint buttery scent.

Texture of Croma Farewell Aging Skin Serum

I use the serum AM and PM after my hydrating mist and before my moisturiser. The light serum absorbs quickly and leaves no sticky after feel. It gets along well with other products in my routines, even SPF.

I’ve been using the serum for about a month. I noticed immediate benefits from using Farewell Aging Serum.

First, my skin looks so plump and well hydrated. When I smile, I think my crow’s feet around my eyes look lessened because of the extra hydration. The product works so well with SPF – I feel like the sun hasn’t touched me at all this year, I’ve had no sunburn or heat rash from the sun, and I thank my SPF, of course, but also the soothing effects of this serum.

I’d love to see how I get on with this serum as the weather gets colder, and I really appreciate both the short- and long-long term benefits of the serum. The packaging is so luxurious, it’s such a treat to use! On the downside, the serum is quite pricey at £109 for 30ml.

I’d love to use it over 3 months to see how it helps with firmness and suppleness. I have high hopes for it!

Croma Firming Laugh Line Mask

Croma kindly sent me a sample of their Firming Laugh Line Mask to try out. This sheet mask targets the nasolabial folds. It contains hyaluronic acid and pomegranate extract to tighten and hydrate the area, and is unfragranced.

The most exciting ingredient for me is palmitoyl hexapeptide, a biomimetic peptide that the brand promises gives a firming effect and smoothes the appearance of wrinkles.

The novel sheet mask comes in two parts, like half moons that hug the nasolabial area.

I found the mask easy to use and it held well for 15 minutes, with plenty of serum left in the sachet to massage into the rest of my face. Afterwards, the area was so smooth and well cared for – it felt much perkier! The effects lasted throughout the day.

This mask is a real boost if you want to target this area with your skincare and the ingredients are sure to bring benefits.
