Hello again, my beauty friend! And welcome to my December 2020 natural beauty empties!

What a year was 2020. It goes without saying that it’s been hugely challenging. Like many, I’ve found it helpful to try and focus on the positives.
We’ve learned more about ourselves in 2020 than any other year, discovering just how strong and resilient we are. Life might not be exactly as we want it to be, but we can embrace what we do have. Time with friends and family is limited, but the limitation is reducing the spread of the virus. And it won’t last forever.
Gratitude turns what we have into enough. – Anonymous
2020, you helped me to scale back my expectations; to celebrate the little moments of calm and reflection. And I really appreciated the extra time I had for self-care and wellness activities. Yet, I am so very glad to move in 2021! The promise of meeting friends and family freely, and soft play for my children, infinite hugs, and above all the possible end of suffering due to Covid.
Reflections aside, let us return to skincare. In December I used up even more than ever. Why? My husband has extra time off work so I get more time in the bathroom! There’s a big focus on natural fragrance as I realised some of my fragrances were changing. Standout products include serums to treat specific skin concerns of the menstrual cycle, chamomile and probiotic facial mist, and vitamin C cleansing oil. For littles, there’s a fruity bubble bath.
Enjoy my December 2020 natural beauty empties!

Typology Woman Serums
My review of Typology skincare quickly became one of my most popular posts of 2020. These serums are an absolute life saver to use throughout my menstrual cycle. Not only do the serums address concerns specific to certain times of the month, they really help me to tune in to my cycle.
For instance, during my period, on week 1, there’s a beautiful hydrating and soothing serum with hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, bisabolol, and cornflower floral water. On week 2, during ovulation, and when I’m feeling powerful, there’s a suppleness and radiance serum with vitamin C and fruit acids. On week 3, the start of the luteal phase, there’s a hydrating and astringent serum with sugar extracted from wheat, and ginger extract. And finally on week 4, in the 7 days leading up to my period, there an effective mattifying and anti-blemish serum with seaweed extract and zinc.
I absolutely loved using these serums, I think they’re so beautifully thought out, and I’ll likely buy them once I’ve dwindled my current serum collection.

Flow Chamomile & Probiotics Facial Mist
I’m so sad to say goodbye to this little Nordic natural beauty I picked up from Koti Lifestyle. It’s an organic chamomile floral water with probiotics for irritated and dry skin, and I love everything about it.
The first time I used it, I was taken aback by the strong fragrance. It’s like fermented chamomile. But it grew on me, and I really appreciate the soothing effects, especially after retinol and acids.
I’ll certainly be buying it again once I’ve used up another chamomile water in my collection.

Lovinah Dragon’s Blood Vitamin C Cleansing Oil
My beautiful friend gifted this to me with enough in the bottle for several cleanses just so I could try the brand for the first time. What a sweetheart she is.
And I absolutely love the cleanser. Rich, fruity, and yes – as the brand touts itself – supernatural. The cleanser shifts makeup and grime, while keeping skin clear and bright thanks to BHA exfoliation and vitamin C. I can’t wait to try more from Lovinah!

Kear Hydrate & Relax Body Oil
This gorgeous Hydrate & Relax Body Oil featured in my review of Greek skincare brand Kear.
The sumptuous sweet lemon scented oil feels like a treat from ancient Greece. It’s more like a liquid balm, and keeps my skin soft all day.

Weleda Agrume Natural Perfume
Weleda perfumes are no longer available to buy but I have several in my collection. I think this one smells like their sea buckthorn range.
These perfumes are breastfeeding and pregnancy safe and like a fruity ray of sunshine in a bottle. Unmistakably Weleda, actually.

Evolve Organic Beauty Daily Defence Moisture Mist
This mist featured in my brief review of goodies from Persephone Beauty. It makes a great daily hyaluronic acid mist in the morning to refresh and prime skin ready for the rest of my AM routine. I also like that it contains prickly pear and moringa peptides to protect and calm.
Although it contains rose water, it’s not as fragrant as I’d like, but it’s certainly hydrating and calming, and a great addition to any skincare routine.

Schmidt’s Charcoal + Magnesium Natural Deodorant
I was so excited to find this at my local Tesco! Magnesium and charcoal help to stop odour, and it’s really easy to apply, dries quickly, and has a beautiful delicate fragrance.
It’s a really great deodorant and one I’ll certainly buy again.

Such beautiful soaps from Organii. They smell lovely and natural, lather well, and hold their shape well. I featured them in my plastic free swaps post in July.
Organic, vegan, and great value for money, too!

Amoora Peace Rose & Jasmine Shower Bomb
This was a lovely gift from my husband, who made me my own advent calendar with goodies from Holland & Barrett. If you haven’t seen it, you should go and take a look over on my stories.
The shower bomb is basically a tablet that sits in the shower and releases a beautiful fragrance. It’s really lovely!

Antipodes Vanilla Pod Hydrating Day Cream
This came in a Moisture Boost Minis gift box that featured in my Christmas stocking filler recommendations in 2018.
The lovely day cream is actually surprisingly rich, and smells like beautiful vanilla. It’s packed with anti-ageing antioxidants and Manuka honey for clear and healthy skin. If you’re a fan of Antipodes, definitely give this a try!

Mádara Smart Anti-Pollution Repair Mask
This lovely mask came in the September 2020 LoveLula Beauty Box. With black northern mud and charcoal, it’s recommended to reverse free radical damage caused by pollution.
I found it makes a lovely once a week treat for bright and fresh skin.
